For me age has a lot to do with it.

DLR is Jump to me.
And Hot For Teacher and Panama.
And Running With The Devil and a couple of others.
I was never a huge fan because I was never really into his music.
plus they never toured Australia (the only tour we got was after Sammy left when he toured with the Wabos)
But I can see what a showman he was etc.

I should say that 5150 totally kicked my ass and most likely would have converted me from a die hard Roth fan instantly.
That's just me, I dug the album...
I'm contemplating, thinkin' about thinkin'

I was a little worried about that album, and how it would sound etc......when I heard 'Why can't this be Love' on the radio, I thought this is gonna be cool.
'Dreams' is very high on the list of my fave VH songs, along with the aforementioned WCTBL, and 'Love walks in'.
Great album.

Yep, Dreams made a big comeback with me after the amount of flooding that was done via radio of that song.

Took me a while but it slowly earnt a special place in my CD collection.

Saw Sammy a few years ago when he solo toured and he sung the song.
Said he no longer sings it every night because it is such a hard and draining song to sing.

And I have to admit, that I sound really really bad singing that song in the shower...

You ain't an orphan there, buddy!!
In fact Sammy's stuff is a hell of a lot harder than Dave's to sing......but then I can't do star jumps either.

Does anyone else think that 'Good enough' from '5150' sounds like a DLR song? Everytime I hear it I always think it would have sounded better if sung by Roth.

I just see the Roth/Hagar versions as two different bands.

That's the thing when a band changes their lead singer... At first I was very sceptical when I head the news that Hagar would join Van Halen. After all, there was Sammy Hagar solo and there was Van Halen; both great bands, and with them joining forces, this would mean there would be only one great band left...

Then again, I've come to like Hagar with Van Halen better than Sammy Hagar solo. I love songs like Dreams, Right Now, Don't Tell Me, Mine All Mine.

I got to admit Mr. Rock, "Good Enough" has a DLR vibe to it...

Journeytroll, get your head out of your ass! Van Halen is better off without Roth, no more fighting. They even tried to get the prick back, but he's too big of a dickhead so they had to get Cherone. Face it, Roth and Van Halen will never be together again. So get the dick out of your ass!
