One of my all time favorite shows...

I have the video, but it was one of those cardboard sleeve ones.
So I decided to try and make all my videos look uniform, and cut the box to make it fit into a case.
It looks pretty stupid, and now I can replace it and throw out the old one :D
I'm contemplating, thinkin' about thinkin'
It's overrated, just get another drink and
Watch me come undone

I've never seen it, but I've heard it's way better than the Right Here, Right Now one. Someone inform me of what I've been missing.

It is better than RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW, but not that much better. The directing is more clear... you can see the band better. Bear in mind I haven't seen this since the late 80s, but it's an okay video. I'm not going to buy it. Personally, I hated the directing on RHRN. Tried too hard to be "hip."

I would like to see a vintage Van Halen (with DLR) DVD.

Agreed. And the band were very keen to impress....

I will be buying 'Live without a Net' though, it's a good gig.

Dang, Kenny, you truly are a Manager of Van Halen. And me with my lowly 20 something posts.

I recently had a chance to watch a Diver Down tour video of Van Halen, and it was awesome. It blew me away to see how awesome they were just a few years before the Sammy era. Eddie was phenomenal (at his peak, playing wise), and Dave was magnificent. Sure Dave didn't sing all of the lyrics, but he was in complete command of the audience... very entertaining, and I even got into it. Like Austin Powers, he was the guy all the girls wanted, and the guy all the guys wanted to be.

Anyway, I'd like to see that video put out. If I'm not mistaken, it was played on MTV back in the 80s (when MTV was worth watching and it played concerts, not reality shit). But this concert was the shit, and was easily 10 times better than LIVE WITHOUT A NET. I say that, and I am a Sammy fan, too.

It's about time! I've seen the video; haven't been able to buy it since nobody stocked it (Pre-internet-days)!!

I've also seen a concert from the Balance tour on tv. Of course my video was on the fritz that day. I've been searching for it ever since.

Agree on the DLR thing. David's 'Crazy From The Heat' should be re-released as well. Or, at least, 'California Girls'.

I had heard originally that it was supposed to be released at the same time as 'BoBW'. But I'm glad it's coming out! I wore out my VHS years ago!!

About time this came out on DVD - a must!

Anybody have Sammy's Long Road To Cabo DVD? It's pretty cool. And it's $18.28 and DeepDiscountDVD.com as opposed to $29.99 at Best Bite or Circuit Sh*tty. All of Sammy's solo music videos, from "Three Lock Box" on up are on there - and you can also watch them with commentary! The commentaries for "Three Lock Box" and "V.O.A" are funnier than heck.

Does anybody know if Sammy's '78 live album, All Night Long, ever came out on CD?

Live Without A Net seems to be edited. "Best Of Both Worlds" seems to be missing the part where the band jammed to part of "Addicted To Love" by the late Robert Palmer.

Maybe they had to can it due to not getting the okay for DVD from Robert Palmer's estate?

Bummer...I just bought the DVD, though! I'll watch it this weekend.

Live Without A Net defines Sammy Hagar era Van Halen in all its glory which is much better than RHRN.

Was the Live Without A Net footage recorded at least partially at the San Diego Sports Arena, during the 5150 tour? I seem to remember hearing on the local news that the master tape was stolen, and that they finally had gotten it back. If it's the concert I am thinking about, I was in the crowd that night.

Absolutely!

I'm not sure. It's supposed to be filmed entirely in New Haven, CT.

Nice Avatar Kenny, take it you rate Master of the Moon?
I have to give it a little more time yet, sounds a little sluggish but overall pretty cool!?

I'm having trouble finding a good avatar (and inserting it for that matter?)

How do I do?
