I liked night shift better for lots of reasons but I do enjoy my sleep and I tend to sleep much better at night than I do in the day. I just hate the nights I'm up all night catching babies THEN have to be in the office all day the next day...the worst of both worlds....but it's all good cuz I LOVE it!

It's just as much of a pain for HI and AZ people though... the problem I found living in AZ was that people who don't live there never know what time it is there, and for some reason, half my family always thought we were ahead, not behind. I tried to explain it to people this way... half the year (April - October) AZ is on Pacific time and the other half (Nov-March) AZ is on Mountain time. I thought that would make it easier. Nope. 7 a.m. on a weekend the phone rings. Me: "What the hell?" Them: "I waited til 9 to call you so it would be 10 where you are..." Me: "It's SEVEN!"

Oh, no my batteries get changed in each one all different times of the year...usually when the low battery annoying beep starts up at 3am! It's especially great when that happens in my bedroom with the high ceilings! Of course they pick the highest point to place that smoke detector!!

LOL- down in central FL. Over the summers here it stays light out until at least 8 p.m, sometimes a bit longer. Then towards end of summer that scales back a bit, and so now having to fall back, it's dark by 6.

That's certainly no different than here in the summer. During the summer, it's definitely light out until 8 or a bit after. As for the winter, I believe our earliest sunset in Boston is the second week of December and I believe the sun sets at about 4:10 in the afternoon.

Well, I'm from Erie, PA, which is as far north as you can go before Canada, and it stays light there until about 10 in the summers! The far NE must be different!
