Check Out The Resume Of The Guy Katy Perry Just Married

Postby Voyager » Sun Nov 21, 2010 11:19 pm

The two lovebirds tied the knot on October 23, 2010.

Wikipedia.com wrote:Russell Brand was born in Orsett Hospital, Grays, Essex, England, the only child of Barbara Elizabeth (née Nichols) and Ronald Henry Brand, a photographer,[5] who had married six years earlier. Brand's parents separated when he was six months old. His mother raised him on her own; he had a somewhat isolated and lonely childhood.[6] When Brand was seven, he was sexually abused by a tutor.[7] When Brand was eight, his mother had uterine cancer; a year later she had breast cancer. Brand stayed with relatives while his mother underwent treatment. When Brand was 14, he became bulimic. He left school and home at 16, at which time his mother had lymphoma and he did not get along with her live-in partner. He began taking drugs,[8] including: cannabis, amphetamines, LSD, Ecstasy, cocaine, crack and heroin.[9] Brand stated during an interview on National Public Radio's Weekend Edition Saturday that he had "a strange relationship with his father, whom he saw sporadically and who took him to visit prostitutes during a trip to the Far East".[10] After Brand's parents divorced, his father remarried twice.[11]

Brand attended Grays School Media Arts College, a comprehensive. He made his theatrical debut at the age of 15 playing "Fat Sam" in a school production of Bugsy Malone, which prompted him to become an actor. He began working as an extra, and applied to study at the Italia Conti Academy. He was accepted, and Essex council funded his tuition for an introductory year, with potential funding for three additional years. Brand joined the Academy in 1991, but was expelled during his introductory year for his behaviour and use of drugs. Afterward, Brand had small acting roles in the children's show Mud and in The Bill.

In 1995, Brand applied for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Drama Centre London and was accepted to Drama Centre. By this point he was a heroin addict and an alcoholic. He was expelled in the final term of his last year for smashing a glass over his head and then stabbing himself in the chest and arms because of poor reactions to one of his performances. After leaving Drama Centre, Brand decided to focus on comedy, and began writing material with Karl Theobald, whom he met at Drama Centre. They formed a short-lived double act, Theobald and Brand on Ice.

He married singer Katy Perry on 23 October 2010.[4]

His is a very sad story. I'm sure KP believes her love will "fix" him. He probably believes it too. Unfortunately even without his disfunctional background, celebrity marriages rarely last very long. His baggage only increases the odds that this marriage won't work. On the other hand Robert Downey Jr. had a horrible home life as a child, battled his addiction demons and is now healthy, happily married and has a very successful career. So it can be done.

Good luck kids ...you're going to need it.

Well he's got a lot of projects lined up (Aurthur 2011) and does charity work to help folks get and stay clean. I wouldn't be so quick to throw him

I always thought Brand was an arrogant bastard. What's the deal with celebrities always marrying other celebrities. Are they too stupid to notice that all the other ones never last? I give their "marriage" a year before he either relapses or sleeps with some other celebrity.

No way that one will work. The younger or more popular (or especially controversial) they are, the less likely their marriages will be successful. Who knows if any of them actually believe they will when they go into it, but I suspect a lot of them just do it for the rush, or maybe out of insecurity. Some of them obviously do it to grab headlines. The problem is, when you always have other options, can find another piece of arm candy any given day, and money isn't really an issue, there just ain't much reason under the sun to work too hard once the honeymoon is over.

It would be a challenge in the sense that unlike most young married couples, there's nothing to really work for or "build" together (e.g., learn how to deal with money issues you mentioned). You don't get to work through a lot of the growing pains that successful married couples work through that ends up bringing them closer over the years. On the other hand, eliminating those issues should also eliminate some very common sources of spousal conflict. I think the real issue is most of them simply don't actually love each other.

It's not the drugs, self mutilation or anything like that which I use to judge this guy. Brand is simply not a good person. Charity from him is a simple exercise in getting a tax break. If he disappeared from the living tomorrow, I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

I'm guessing she would give you a better thrill ride than the tractor would.
