Metallica's Kirk Hammett comes out of the closet

Postby Archetype » Wed May 11, 2011 12:23 pm

Well, partially. He's bi-sexual.

At 9:45]

Funny how the quintessential "tough guy" band has a bi member. I know a few people who probably had their whole existence come crashing down when this came out

That must have been the Filipino side that came out of the closet. You never know, Arnel could be next.

That's why Journey lets Arnel bring his woman along, and he gets his own bus to boot.

Hmmm. I thought for sure it would have been Lars that came flying out of the closet in a cape and pink tights.

Great. Now everyone's going to picture Kirk ripping those solos with a tube steak in his mouth.

There is definitely nothing remotely gay about Kip Winger, or his band. :)

It's usually the guys that brag the loudest or act the most macho that turn out to be "the ones". Not that Kirk was that way, but to Rips point about the "macho band"- totally.
Guilty Dog Barks the Loudest. The guys driving the big huge trucks with the big huge tires... either they're gay or have little tallywackers. Really guys, what're u trying to hide?

Yeah, I figured it'd be Lars. He's just an Ahole and that was already known. Can't stand that guy. I have more of a problem with aholes than anyone who's gay. Who cares?

WOW. That's all I got

I like some Metallica songs, but Lars is one of the worst drummers playing live. I laughed when I saw his name in someone's good live drummers list here not too long ago.

Please tell me you didn't laugh at Torpey on my list, underrated drummer, great live. If he's good enough to play a tour w/ Plant, good enough for me. And like Deen C, his vocals aren't too shabby either. :)

Surprised nobody has mentioned - it is still just rumor as the guy in the clip follows up his statement with " I am just joking". Though Hammett has been married twice and has two kids, I would not be surprised if it was true. I still think he is a very talented guitar player. Used to be a huge Metallica fan, but they lost me when the black album came out. Not that they suck, but I just enjoyed the music prior to that album much more.

Oh gosh no, love Pat! I've known since MB's earlier days what a great singer he is too, I even remember an interview with Eric where he stated Pat was so good he could outsing Eric  Deen is an awesome drummer too and I love his voice too!

Agreed. Saw Metallica many times during my days as a rock scribe, and as a drummer, I'd call him better than solid in the live setting.

Major dickhead for sure, though...

Once, that was enough, is that ok with you? Sorry but he has some crappy timing live and I've seen that said about him a LOT. You're entitled to think he's great, I'm entitled to think he's not.
