One I saw recently and was blown away with was Dead Again with Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Derek Jacobi and a very small bit part from Robin Williams. For lack of a better word, call it a Hitchcock film. Not that far off from something like Rear Window or Vertigo. Really, really well done.

Red Rock West, an early Nicolas Cage (before he was famous) and Dennis Hopper thriller is a bit quirky, but really good also.

Where in the action movie genre do your tastes lie? I've seen a bunch if you narrow it down to what you like/don't like. Give me some pointers and I could probably direct something down your alley.

Heat starring Robert DeNiro & Al Pacino. My all-time favorite movie. It's 3 hours long but awesome. The shootout in downtown L.A. is so realistic it looks like news footage almost. An epic film.

Check out Kiss Kiss / Bang Bang - off beat comedy action, murder mystery - with Robert Downey Jr and Val Kilmer

Also watched the A-Team recently, and was surprised - they did a good job with that..

Haven't seen Unstoppable yet, but heard that was good -

I watch movies on Netflix (through my Xbox 360) all the time. If you like thrillers, watch Red Dragon if you haven't seen it yet. It's a prequel to Silence Of The Lambs, and a great movie. Of course my favorite movie of all TIME is on there too... LOST BOYS!!! :D

The Town - bank heist movie Really enjoyed it. Great opening scene.

The Next Three Days - Russell Crowe - kind of/not really a thriller. Loved it

Unstoppable - runaway train with Denzel Washington. Very good. Starts off strong.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.
Brooklyn's Finest
It's Complicated
The Kids Are All Right

By the way - Saw Bridesmaids last night in the theater. So many funny parts (and I'm a guy). Melissa McCarthy is a riot and stole most of her scenes.

I recently watched a 2002 movie called Moonlight Mile with Susan Surandon and Dustin Hoffman, and Jake Gyllenhaal. This movie should be shown in acting classes. Surandon and Hoffman both have some great scenes. Very slow movie though. Kind of a downer. But incredible acting, in my opinion.

Boondock Saints
Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

They're a tad on the bloody and violent side but they're two of the best movies I've watched in a long time.

x2... and the big gunfight after the heist is one of the best scenes to demo a surround sound system with. :)

I've been resisting SALT w/Jolie, but broke down and watched it last night - it exceeded my expectations.

Makes a lot of sense does it? Apparently he would rather watch half naked men run around in tights.
