My message to any of you fuckers posting endless and mindless political rants about how great your candidate is versus the other need to go the fuck away. Seriously, you fuckers are more obnoxious than robo calls and political ads on TV. Nobody gives a fuck what your political leanings are. Furthermore, when the hell did you become so important and egotistical that you need to tell everyone else what they should believe and how they should vote? How fucking obnoxious. I am pretty lucky. Very few of my friends post political things and those that do keep it pretty short or once in a while.

I think FB is the place to get your thoughts out to family and friends, right? And things like this can be very important for people. In fact, at this point it can be what many people think about more than anything else. So I get it - but if it's a thing of trying to persuade others, it can be rather annoying.

If I were running for president - this would be my campaign:

-All citizens must have forced vasectomies and tubal ligation procedures if they can not pass an IQ test and meet income requirements to have children.

-I support tele-work/tele-commuting. The idea of having to drive to an office every day is outdated. This is how we can ease off our reliance on fossil fuels and the automobile.

-On foreign affairs, my number 1 policy is to open our borders with Mexico and allow anyone in who is able bodied and can work. In return we will send them our homeless and anyone imprisoned.

As you say it would reduce dependence on fossil fuel as well as helping the environment. Employers simply do not trust their employees enough. That is the only reason I can see. That and they want to squeeze every working minute out of them even if pushing a broom is not part of your job description.

I think it has to be a mix. I work in an environment where we work from home often. Some people you can never seem to reach and are definitely not putting in the hours. Sometimes it's hard to move the ball forward without everyone in the room. I work well from home, but I'm a workaholic, so....

I like the idea of a day or two when all employees are in the office to meet and make decisions, but then allow them to go off and do the work from wherever works best for them.

You just have to make sure people don't fade off.

When I was in LA, working from home meant 4 or 5 hours less per day in the car. I think the last 4 years I was there I never went in on a Friday and I had gotten to the point where I only went to the office on Monday to remind people I still worked there.

I agree and that is a fair compromise. All for a weekly stratedgy/status meeting in the office. Even video conferencing in this day. We just have developed all this technology and it seems we are not using it to its full potential simply because we do not trust the people we hire to do the work we hire them to do. I applied this rule indiscriminately, so even if it was someone I see a lot or chat with frequently on the FB chat (which i rarely use anymore anyway), they got axed. At first I contemplated just hiding their updates, but I figured I'd go the full mile and delete them. My reasoning: I really don't have time for idiotic loud-mouthed liberals who basically advocate thieving from me. I don't mind if you vote Democratic, but keep your mouth shut about it around me if we're gonna be friends. I'll do you the same courtesy. And truth be told, we'll probably never be great friends. We might enjoy some great common ground together, like music or sports, and enjoy going to concerts/games etc., but we will never be great friends. For those people, we need to have similar ideologies. Thus, I don't need to keep up appearances around the loud-mouth whackjobs and pretend like I like them, because I don't.

This isn't a scientific rule by any means, but I think the libtards have far more free time to post rantings and ravings about politics every day. That hasn't been my experience Matt. It's been equally insufferable for both candidates, and if I'm being honest, the Pro-Romney crowd has been far more obnoxious on my Facebook. I understand that some people are really passionate about politics (although, I will never understand why). That said, this isn't a partisan thing for me, AT ALL. I'm on record as loathing politicians. I find nothing remotely noble about the profession, and most of these fuckers (on both sides of the aisle) are corrupt as hell! My larger issue is that I personally don't give a fuck what everyone's political beliefs are. It's not really that important to me, nor do I care which one of these ass clowns that people are going to elect. The notion that one is better than the other is beyond laughable to me. They both suck equally. The fact that there are so many people who actually believe that most of us actually give a shit about who they are voting for tells me that these folks have a VERY warped sense of reality and their importance in the world! I'd prefer to get back to a time when people kept their political opinions to themselves!

I RARELY discuss politics with anyone face to face or over the phone unless they start the conversation. I have a good friend who's voted for Obama twice now (early voter this year) and we never discuss it with each other unless we're making a passing joke about something.
