1.Def Leppard-IN the round/In your face-Will always be my Fav., Live concert DVD.
2.AC/DC-Live at River Plate-Nobody rocks out like them crazy ass argentinians!
3.Chicago/Earth, Wind, & Fire-Live at the Greek Theater-I wish I would have been there for this one.
4.Pink Floyd-Pulse-Even without Roger Waters, this is great to watch with a couple of vodka & tonics and 2 pocket rockets!
5.Bee Gees-One Night Only-Hey, fuck all the haters!

I like how some of you put the Eagles on here, knowing without Felder involved, it's not the Eagles. Other dvds came very close to making my

top 5, like Fleetwood Mac's The Dance, Pink's Funhouse Australian tour, The Who live at Royal Albert Hall, Queen live at Wembley stadium, Kiss

"The Revenge Tour etc. I have many more dvd's and play them often. Oh, and fuck you Liam!

Seriously, Gid? That performance was just about as good s it gets for them at the pinnacle of their existence in my opinion. I guess if Captured was somehow recorded as a stand-alone show with the video included as well, the IT would probably be the best sounding Journey concert DVD they released.

Interesting.... I Googled "best rock concert dvd's" just to see what it would produce and within the search results was this site titled "Concert Videos" which is a site with nothing but full live concerts free to watch - and I'll be damned if most of the shows already listed in this thread aren't there. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. There must be well over 150 concerts both officially released as well as boots. Chek it out:

DVD concerts always sound better in stereo. 5.1 surround and music do not mix. Maybe Pink Floyd, but that's about it.

I'm not a huge audiophile--I really only notice when something is really weak/bad (e.g., Dream Theater's "Score" DVD, Journey - Live in Manila, Rush - Time Machine 2011 in Cleveland [sound was bad at show too]). I've heard some discs criticized as bad for <X technical reason> that I really enjoy. But here are some discs I enjoy sound-wise:

1. Bruce Springsteen London Calling Live at Hyde Park (Blu ray)
2. Birtles Shorrock & Goeble - Full Circle Live
3. Toto - Live in Amsterdam
4. America - Live at the Sydney Opera House
5. Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere
6. Lindsey Buckingham - Songs From the Small Machine (Blu ray)
7. Eagles - Farewell Live from Melbourne (I miss Felder too, but good setlist/good discs)
8. David Gilmour - Remember That Night Live at Royal Albert Hall (Blu ray)
9. Hall & Oates - Live at the Troubador

Just a few off the top of my head...

I have "A Night To Remember" on CD and thought the audio was so horrific that I never bothered wasting my money on the DVD. Is it better than the CD?

Captured is a zillion times better than Houston. Perry wasn't nearly as campy or histrionic then.

The single reason Blu Ray, HD, and Bose were created. Recently released on Blu Ray. Queen - Live in Budapest. The quality is insane. This looked good on VHS when it came out and they did a phenomenal job with the blu ray.

I have this on a VHS, it was one of my first purchases back in the day when I'd put together my first "so called" home theatre sound system. I remember being ecstatic when I saw it at a local video store for sale. Think we owned a 20 inch Zenith.

There are some really good shows on VHS from the 80's that that have been transferd to DVD that we used to rock on. Yes 9012Live, C, S, & N Daylight Again, Rod Stewart Vagabond Heart (which I think has a great sound), and although I'm not a big fan, the Garth Brooks in Central Park Show sets my Bose on fire.

I just got the Vagabond Heart show on DVD. This really does have great sound. That was from a pay-per-view and Rod had the flu, but had to go on due to the subscriptions. I thought he worked his ass off through it. I saw him live the night before and it was one of the coolest nights of my life. Won't say why.

Phenomenal sound for being outdoors. Even when he lets the audience pretty much handle the vox for "Unanswered Prayers" it's amazing how clear and sharp the audio is.

Say or think whatever you want about Rod Stewart (and his career), but the dude does it right. Great bands and great sounds and good times.

Funny about Rod Stewart. I was a HUGE fan from the earliest I can remember. Then it go into the the whole Standards thing and I wasn't all that into it. And then that rock covers album he did I thought blew chunks. So I stopped listening altogether. For years. And I was irritated about it. So one day i decided to put together a compilation of his stuff that I liked, you know - the first 40 years - and I was able to reclaim that enjoyment. It was great.
