Enjoy your "slightly larger paycheck", seeing how your income tax rate wasn't reduced. You'll have to pay it back, ask your tax man he'll tell you. Oh and the Bamster has promised to let the Bush tax cut to expire. So your paychecks will be much smaller.

Lula wrote:i don't understand the protest. if it is against paying taxes, well that is just a way of life- someone has to pay for our infrastructure and various services. yesterday was the deadline to file for 2007- that was a bush tax year, so were these folks protesting bush? it is an insult to real grassroots organizations to say the tea baggers were organized at that level. i believe the term used in astro turf? i watched a replay of hannity's show with joe the plumber..... give me a break . i'm all for dissent and protest so more power to em. i am unaware of taxation without representation other than maybe puerto rico and d.c. so i'm kind of wanting to understand what is being protested.

Of course you don't.

Go cry me a river you fuckin conservatives. No tax! No tax! waaaaaa. It's the patriotic thing to do, and yes, I am serious. What the fuck you think pays for all of the services you currently enjoy, you filthy selfish sonsofbitches? The paved road, the clean airport, the courthouse, the national park, the fuckin military that defends this country, or the unemployment check you are receiving due to the piss poor management of George W Bush?

Pay your taxes and shut the fuck up already.

You all think the tide has changed huh?

Obama's current approval rate is 61% with a disapproval of 30% for a net positive of tada....+30%.

You all really think bringing teabags to a Fox news national rally is going to win you an election? Dumbfucks.

Taxes are already high you ignorant SOB. We have 8.25% sales tax where I live, property taxes are equal to a mortgage on a 70k house...and thats before any income/SS, etc. Lets cut all the BS, all the services to losers, etc. Nobody thinks we shouldn't pay taxes for the things you mentioned. Good Christ...get a clue. Its also to show our disapproval of other potential tax increases, like Barry pushing subpar Universal Healthcare down our throats....or that brilliant idea to make the greenies feel all warm and fuzzy by shooting at the clouds.

Keep whining about Bush though you pathetic motherfucker. Doesn't sound like you were doing that poorly during his tenure....flying all over the place seeing a band you don't even like.

Wow, the insults...nice.

Listen douche, we are the least taxed nation in the world. We can afford more taxation to provide for necessary services and I would start immediately with National Health Care.

Go fuck yourself you selfish sonofabitch.

National Health Care for 300 million people at an average of 7k per person (very low estimate) comes out to 2.1 trillion a year. Great idea. Not to mention people that come here from socialized nations laugh that we would even consider it.

Another waste of taxpayer dollars - and this has nothing to do with Barry - is that BS voucher thing for people to get converter boxes for their TV's. WTF....why do I have to pay for people to watch old TV's? You don't wanna buy a digital TV then read a fucking book or listen to a Godamn radio!

And by the way, despite the fact that my wife would be affected, I say cut Head Start funding too, not completely, but at least don't increase funding. Its a vicious cycle of kids having kids, and despite how ridiculous it sounds - W is right that abstinence is the only solution to this. We have inner-cities chocked full of 15 year old Moms and 30 year old Grandmas. Its gotta stop...you can't fix that with money.

Maybe YOU can afford to pay more Dean. My wife and I pay MORE in taxes than you MAKE in a year. When you add it all up, property, local income, state income, federal income, social security, sales taxes and the like I get to keep about 42% of what I and my wife make.

Maybe we are the least taxed, and MOST of would prefer it that way.

I work hard (as you do) to support my family (a full time job and part time business so I can afford a few nice things), why should you or I pay for a bunch of people who are lazy bums and want a free ride? I busted my ass, served my country, got a little with GI Bill for doing so, and paid my own way through college to be able to get a job that allows me to have a good life. Why should anyone else benefit MORE than I do from my hard work? Now certainly there are people who need a small helping hand in times of distress,I have no problem helping them. I have no problem paying my fair share, but I should be the one that defines what is FAIR not you, and certainly not some group of rich politicians!

Hell maybe I should just sit on my fat ass and let YOU pay for me to do so? Since you have so much extra money to be giving out? Oh wait, that is someone else money you want to give out!

When the Bush tax cuts expire it will cost me THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars more in taxes and I don't even get a thank you, and neither do all the people who pay MOST of the taxexs in this country. And I am not rich by any means, I smack dab in the middle class and I am getting FUCKED with taxes because I am. And you libs think I don't pay enough??? Fuck you and the libs who think it is YOUR right to confiscate my money and distribute it as you see fit.

Yeah...I own 2 houses because we couldn't sell our last house and needed to move. We live in NY State. We make 75kish a year and paid 10k in property taxes last year alone. 10k on 2 houses worth a combined $280,000. But...yeah Dean...lets increase taxes!????! I'm tellin ya, property taxes shouldn't pay school taxes....it should be a flat tax that ALL residents pay whether or not they own a home or not. I don't know how it is other places, but its unfair here. I bought a new car at the end of last year and got taxed on the rebates.....$10,000 in rebates on a Grand Cherokee and I had to pay over $800 in taxes on that...ON REBATES. Come on Dean...gimme a fucking break with the taxes!

Not to mention that at 35 years old I'm not gonna see a dime of all the SS money I'm throwing away. Shame that more people didn't listen to W on that. If I could have just 10% of that I'd feel a little better.

Christ you told me (and all the "Cons") to shut the fuck up and pay taxes because it's patriotic and I didn't get all bent out of shape. Relax dude. I have told you fuck you and the like plenty of times, and you have said the same to me. You shouldn't take it personally.

I pay taxes, I don't want to pay MORE than I absolutely have to, nor do I want to pay taxes to support those who do not earn it. I pay MORE than my fair share, and am happy to keep paying taxes to pay for infrastructure improvements this country needs, within reason. I do not agree with having a nanny state that provides services it is neither qualified to deliever nor the most cost effective means of doing so and so I do not want to fund said state.

OH yeah...why don't you actually address my points?

Uhh, DHS also published two reports on left wing extremists under Bush.

Now, we all know the Gov't was politicized and cronyized under Bush...
In fact, Obama's Attorney General just vindicated Republican Ted Stevens after he discovered Bush's own fed. prosecutors had incorrectly railroaded him.
If you have proof Obama's DHS has been similarly corrupted, let's hear it.
Otherwise, I'd take these intelligence analysts at their word.

With the exception of a slim few, I feel these people would've been out in droves if the teabag-fest was held the day after election.
The Fox News ads claim the people are protesting "higher taxes", but this year's tax rates haven't changed one bit.
Some, like FF, just despise the President for trying to make our country great again.

Bullshit and you know it...those people (a rather large mix of parties and ideologies if the one in Pittsburgh was any indication) feel the GOVERNMENT in general (Republican, Democrat, and Independents alike) are fucking up the future for our kids.

Only because Fox got involved are the libs in this country crying foul.

Italy privatized Social Security, as the GOP and Bush would have us do.
It's been nothing short of disastrous.
If anything, this current downturn has demonstrated just why Wall Street should stay out of it.
Besides, the short term transition costs to private accounts would run around 800 billion.

That may be true of a few in attendance, but the numerous 'Obama as Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot' effigies would seem to indicate otherwise.
Much like the event's biggest promoter, Sean Hannity, these teabaggers were anything but independent.

The 'silent majority' in this country understands we can’t tax-cut or deregulate our way out of this mess.
Obama has over 20 years worth of Alan Greenspan and Reaganomics to unravel.
Those now protesting Obama’s actions weren’t willing to give him a shot in the first place.
Re-roll the footage from this election's McCain/Palin rallies, you're likely to see some familiar flushed faces, decked in the same sandwich board protest signs.

RossValoryRocks wrote:Only because Fox got involved are the libs in this country crying foul.

Sorry...
The Tea Parties that happened in the primaries by the Ron Paul guys were grassroots.
The Iraq War protests that happened worldwide were grassroots.
This FOX News teabagging-fest (TM) was partially organized and funded by Newt Gingrich's think tank. and was advertised around the clock on FOX - complete with FOX news email alerts touting the celebrity guestlist.

Just like last week when you claimed the wiretaps were safely limited to foreign citizens and it's now come out that even members of Congress were spied on.

Gee...did you READ the article??? In RECENT months...as in under OBAMA'S watch...Oh and they DIDN'T spy on him...they WANTED to spy on him...but it was blocked.

Did you even notice that a memeber of congress was talking to a TERRORIST?

OF COURSE NOT! It doesn't match your political ideology...which is so far left you can even see the center let alone claim to be a part of it.

Again...step away from the Donkey dung, and Elephant drool and see what is really happening dude. Your golden boy Obama is as bad as the rest of them.

Transcript of Meghan McCain speaking to the Log Cabin Republicans. Kind of scary when a young woman with little experience is giving a speech to Republicans and making more sense than many politicians regarding the direction of the GOP.

"Speaking to an affectionate crowd of Log Cabin Republicans on Saturday evening, Meghan McCain ridiculed the party her father headed this past election, declaring that "old school Republicans" were "scared shitless" of the changing landscape.

The Senator's daughter, who has quickly become something of an iconic figure in the gay conservative community since the end of the election, took repeated shots at the GOP for its antiquated mores.

"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes," said McCain. "There are those who think we can win the White House and Congress back by being 'more' conservative. Worse, there are those who think we can win by changing nothing at all about what our party has become. They just want to wait for the other side to be perceived as worse than us. I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party. But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past."

Later, she called out those officials in the Republican tent who insist that tactical improvements, technology and brass-knuckle politicking are the path back to relevance.

"Simply embracing technology isn't going to fix our problem," she said. "Republicans using Twitter and Facebook isn't going to miraculously make people think we're cool again. Breaking free from obsolete positions and providing real solutions that don't divide our nation further will. That's why some in our party are scared. They sense the world around them is changing and they are unable to take the risk to jump free of what's keeping our party down."

The remarks, delivered at the Log Cabin Republican's national convention in Washington D.C., drew healthy applause and the occasional high-pitched whistling. McCain, at one point, declared herself a proud member of the GOP. But her pot shots at the Republican Party and its flashier figures were not thinly veiled. Describing her public tiff with Ann Coulter as non-delicate, she went on to refer to the brash conservative talker as "overly partisan and divisive." Later in the speech she insisted that "most of our nation wants our nation to succeed" - a pretty clear dig at the now-infamous remarks of talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.

As for the GOP establishment, McCain described it as a "party that was thriving at one point on a few singular issues" but could no longer "see long-term success."

"We've seen how it has contributed to some serious problems in our nation and world," McCain said, in an apparent reference to the government under GOP control. "Let me blunt, you can't assume you're electing the right leaders to handle all the problems facing our nation when you make your choice based on one issue. More and more people are finally getting that."
