Yeah, I know. I guess an emoticon would have been appropriate there. Another instance of my dry humor going awry.

Besides that, what was probably toughened up or, better said, loosened up while he was in prison, is probably something not likely to be injured in a football game.

I'm stumped. I'm not totally comfortable with either 3 of those teams if you figure those will be the favorites entering the post-season if you had to pick one representing in the Super Bowl. New England is playing with faceless defenseman, Baltimore can't beat the weak and Pittsburgh can't force turnovers, on pace for just 10 all together, a league low.

The other teams in the running besides the Pats, Ravens and Steelers are: Houston (#1 seed who just lost their starting QB for the season) Oakland (leading in arguably the worst division in football who invested in a QB still getting in football shape and learning the offense) Cincinnati (rookie quarterback & young team still having to play Baltimore and Pittsburgh again.)

The next 3 teams in the hunt at the moment beneath the 5 seeded leaders are: Jets, Bills & Chargers who I think is middleweight at best and would be a joke if either of them win their divisions.

I think the teams that survive to make the playoffs will finally get their secondaries in gear and a lot of these inflated QB ratings will drop. More than any other units, the corners and safties seem to have suffered the most from lack of a proper training camp.

Looking at it objectively, Pittsburgh is the only team in that group who can play offense and defense at a high level. I like Houston, but I think Schaub is a huge loss for that team. Baltimore has a better defense than Pittsburgh but an impossible offense to rely upon and probably not a team who can score enough points to win in the playoffs. The Patriots played as good of a game as I've seen them play in years last night. That said, it was almost comical seeing the guys they had out there on defense. I personally have never heard of most of them. Not sure I've ever seen an NFL team roll out 10 undrafted free agents in one game. Asking a defense who don't even know each other's names to become a cohesive unit is simply asking too much. The Jets could still sneak in, because they do play defense. The Chargers and Bills are done!

I wouldn't write The Chargers off just yet simply because of their horrendous division. You can't tell me they can't best the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos after 16 games.

I really like Aaron Rodgers. But I am about to turn this game off. I just can't stand hearing grown men jizzing their pants ad nauseum over Rodgers/the Packers.

The Chargers and Norv Turner have enough of a history for me to write them off. Even if they make the playoffs out of a really bad division, they never win in the playoffs. Not to mention, Rivers just isn't that good this season.

Not that it even matters, because it's the Chiefs, but, Matt Cassel is done for the season. If you have Dwayne Bowe on your fantasy team, trade him right this second, because he now has ZERO value!

Oh, I will write them off for winning ANYTHING in the playoffs.100% with you there. But I won't write them off for MAKING the playoffs.

Last night I was watching Comcast Sports Net. Seeing the ever growing list of players being placed on IR, makes me feel this thing about not being able to have padded practices during the season is not working at all.

The reduction in padded practices were never going to reduce injuries. It was really nothing more than players wanting to be beat up a lot less through the course of an NFL season. Very rarely does a player ever get injured during a practice, so that was never much of a consideration.

The AFC is pretty bad right now to say the least. My money's on the teams with the most playoff experience at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Pats/Steelers in the AFC title game. Not like it matters. The Packers are looking prime for a repeat right now. The Bears, 49ers, and Saints could challenge them in the NFC, but the way the Aaron Rodgers is putting up numbers right now, I just don't think anyone will have enough offensive firepower to outscore the Packers.

I understand where you are coming from, but I also think players felt that by being beat up less, it keeps them fresh throughout the season. And, it's common sense to understand that a player who is "fresh" and not fatigued is not as likely to sustain injury during a game as those who are beat up from practice. That was the point I was making. Players who are beat up during practice are going to be playing fatigued during the latter part of the season. That latter part of the season is when I have noticed more injuries occurring.

The point I was making is, I think the less padded practices have also been a detriment for a few teams as well. While they might be mentally ready for Sunday, are they physically ready to take that pounding only once a week? Sometimes it takes being callused enough that once you get hit so many times, you're numb to it. Some players are going to get beat up and worn down, but other players seem to get stronger from it. I know when I played football, it was tough taking a hit early in the season. But, by the latter part of the season, I was numb to it and actually looking for someone to hit (or to get hit by lol.)

Complete non-issue. Players in the NFL play with broken bones all the time, and Ben will be no different.

Nothing new. Roethlisberger is always battling those pain in the ass injuries. He aggravated his foot injury as well and has to wear a shoe 2 sizes bigger to give it room to breath and to tape it up. This thumb injury had nagged him since 2005 and it's that same thumb that he re-fractured. Ironically, Ben plays better when injured.

I think a few weeks ago Roethlisberger had broken ribs. I was laughing with my son about how many touchdowns he threw under those circumstances. Greg already knew it was 5. Even though we are in Cincinnati,we know there is something really special about him. In the 40 some yrs I've watched the NFL he has HOF credentials for sure !

Here's me and my girlfriend at the Jaguars game earlier in the year. Steelers Fan Cam. The camera takes a picture of the whole stadium and you can zoom in and find yourself. Very cool! I'm going to get this printed out and give it to her for one of her Christmas gifts.

Cheap prick giving your chick a picture of yourself for Christmas. Come on dude. I've seen pictures of your girlfriend, and you've done well. Not to mention, you speak highly of her, so you have to do better than a picture of your mug  Tell her that I'm sorry for her that you've corrupted her into becoming a Steelers fan!

LOL, it's not just of me you know, she's sitting right next to me 8) Trust me, she is very spoiled everywhere I turn, haha. I treat her well and it's well deserved. This was her only second game, I think it would be a nice gift to wrap up and frame for her because she doesn't know about the fan cam. Other than that, I didn't corrupt her. I got a text from her the other night saying "I'm at K-mart and could you believe they put out Dallas Cowboys crap next to the Steelers section?" And when I told her Baltimore lost to the Seahawks she says "Stupid Baltimore!" lmao, I did well. She's funny with it. Much more room to grow, though. MUCH MORE.

The most asinine, ridiculous claim ever made on a fantasy football board:

With the additions of Antonio Brown, Laurent Robinson, Earl Bennett and Tim Tebow I have quietly managed my way out of a seemingly insurmountable hole and into contention. Add to that the return of Andre Johnson and the potential for a last minute trade and I fully expect to win at least 2 possibly 3 of the final 3 regular season games and carry a respectable middle seed into the playoffs. Once there, I will be lethal. Look for Leviathan to terrorize in the playoffs as I am peaking at exactly the right time. Train out.

This came from my commish in my money league.

Antonia Brown? James Earl Bennett? Lauren Robinson? Timmy TeBlow? THESE guys are gonna catapult him to the championship? Those are the kind of moves that COST you a shot at a championship. Each one of those guys has been owned and subsequently released by one or more teams in our league this year - for a reason. They're mediocre or worse.
