I second that...that is, if I haven't already.

What a great way to get pumped up for the concert, eh?

Have you? You don't say!

I'm glad I'm finally starting to get into this album. Just in time! The first times I played it I found it too mellow and sweet, but I think I'm getting it now. The sweetness and frailty of Sharon's voice is actually the strong point of the album! I just wasn't in the right mindset for it, the first times I listened to it.

Dusting off an old classic for my ATOW, "Let There Be Rock" by AC/DC.
Bought the double dvd by AC/DC, doesnt features the"Big Guns" clip. The one the boys are jamming with Arnie. Other that it great to see all the old clips with Mr Bon Scott.

My AOW is Kamelot-The Black Halo. Its not as good as i wanted it to be though. I've given it a good 5 or 6 spins and apart from maybe 2 songs it just sounds like more of the same. Hopefully the Conception reunion goes really well and they do another album or two.

It's not as good as I wanted it to be either Tali, but it's still a good album.

My AOTW this week is Negative - Sweet and Deceitful.

Same feelings here... I'm afraid this one will spend much more time on the shelf than Karma or Epica. Compared to those The Black Halo is missing something... or has too much perhaps... like interludes, orchestras, choirs. :?

I have no AOTW...seriously. I haven't played any music...at all. Only concentrating on work, and the songs that my band has written in prep for the next practice.

I made a cd-r revised track listing of that album, but never posted it in fear that 'they' see it.

Beyond Twilight - Section X

It sounds very different from their previous album; more Symphony X like. Not surprising considering their new singer sounds very much like Russell Allen (who they originally had started to work with for this album).

Ok, I do have a different AOTW. I'll give it to the Mostly Autumn compilation that Serendipity made for me. I'm not a huge fan of Pink Floydian soundalikes, but the Genesis-influenced vibes won me over.

Bought 6 cd's this week, and no sign of slowing up!!

Tell me Penny, how does it compare to 'Subsurface', if you have that one, that is......

I should play Hypothetical more... I own it, I know there are good songs on it, and yet I always pick Subsurface, Wireless or Replica to play first. :?

What about your assessment then?
I have 'Subsurface' and 'Extinct Instinct'.......of those two, I prefer the latter......I feel Mac's voice is a bit too much on the same pitch.

Mac is the singer on Hypothetical... I can't see how you feel Mac's voice is on the same pitch... His vocal lines are so melodic! I must say his voice isn't the most expressive voice around, so perhaps in that way I can see your point. But the same goes for the other singer IMO...

Basically, I remember Hypothetical as a louder version of Subsurface; it sounds a bit less sophisticated. I'm not sure whether you're going to like this album if you prefer Extinct Instinct over Subsurface. I don't know EI well enough to assess whether Hypothetical may be the middle ground between their old and new material; i.e. an album we all would like!

Yes but his voice does not have much range......I think this is what I meant.
If one put an oscilloscope on his voice, it would not show any highs or lows.....just mids!!

I see what you mean... but with the other singer the oscilloscope would go off the scale at times. Sometimes he just sings too high for my taste!

Yeah sometimes he does......I think I said a while ago that I didn't feel Threshold had found 'their singer' yet........I mean, they are very good, but just something is lacking!
