Life's been uneventful. Christmas was decent. I didn't expect a big christmas, and it wasn't. But I did get a few cds (Ayreon "The Human Equation," Nickelback "All the Right Reasons," Genesis "The Platinum Collection.") But I was disappointed I didn't get Star Wars Episode 3. I harped on them to get it for me, but never got it. So that is exactly where my gift cards are going to.

I'm worried for some friends. They have made no attempt to communicate with me. No e-mails, no phone calls. I'm starting to wonder if something happened to them.

Other than that, I'm enjoying my second week of vacation out of work, sitting on my behind, playing The Elder Scrolls III, and watching Within Temptation "Silence Force Tour" on my XBox. :D

Christmas was pretty uneventful here too. Not bad though. I don't have a big family or anything. It's just me and my mom. Rob (my bf) got me a portable dvd player, which was really cool because i had been wanting one for a long time but I didn't ask because I didn't think he could afford one. Nice surprise.

 Did they turn eachother into snowdogs?

I'd like a hot chocolate as well... Had to walk my way back home tonight... about halfway there was so much snow interspersed with icy patches it became impossible to cycle anymore.

SnakeLady, I did walk quite a while... it took me an hour to get home instead of the usual 15 minutes!

Oh that sounds awesome! :D Have a great time!

We plan to go to a bar tonight and meet up with some friends. Hopefully it won't rain tonight... the bar is only small and a lot of people go there, so we'll probably be spending a reasonable amount of time drinking outside.

Penny, it's still 22 C or so? On holiday I found that very chilly, but I wouldn't mind having those temperatures over here right now!

Happy New Year everybody!!!

There's definitely a pub close by.

Yes S-dip, the temperature is still in the 20's.

Happy New Year everyone. It's 3 minutes to midnight here. We see the new year before most of you. :D

Hey S-dip & Penny, it's the Westbury Hotel in the background, with a lovely view over Grafton Street which Phil used to frequent ever so often!

BTW, I was there for the unveiling of the statue. Classic! :D

Why doesn't that surprise me? :)

The fireworks are getting heavier... the kids have been setting them off all day, but now they are down to the really loud stuff. I could swear I just heard a window shatter when one of those bombs went off... or would it just be my ears ringing from the blast. :?

We're not allowed to set off fireworks ourselves. They're all very organised events here. The town council sets it all up and they go on for far too long. Pain in the butt I reckon. There were fireworks at 9 o'clock last night
and midnight. Because we're so close to town we can see and hear them very clearly. My 3 year old gets woken up every time. I hate it.

I wouldm't have minded if they set the same rules over here as well... those bombs were terrible... later in the evening I heard a lady on the streat scream "there's a fucking hole in the pavement!" yeah, it was that loud...

Well, we still have windows left, and the bar wasn't nearly as crowded as I had thought it would be... no live band tonight! We had a really good time! Right now we're both terribly drunk and went home to see some more Rainbow... at the bar they wouldn't play opeth because it wasn't the right mood for 'quiet music' but instead they played Rainbow - Catch the rainbow from On Stage, which is such an awesome song... Left a taste for more so were watching Rainbow Live In Munich 1977 right now! Ritchie Blackmore's playing makes me envious even though I don't even play the guitar! Wonderful... *sigh*

See you all tomorrow... when we'll probably all be recovering from tonight!
