Lackey actually looked pretty good last night. At this point, he's the only Sox starting pitcher that isn't currently injured, although Beckett's not on the DL yet.

Fuck Lackey. Guy is a complete fucking douche. He would be doing the Red Sox a favor if he landed on the season ending DL! I'll take any guy at Pawtucket over his overpaid, underperforming ass!

The fucker should be arrested for grand larceny! Dude is being paid an insane amount of money and has the worst E.R.A. in the majors! On top of that, his antics on the mound of showing teammates up is fucking embarrassing and his post-game press conferences are even worse! Fuck him.

Come on dude...get your head out of your ass. What the hell have I said about Lackey that isn't true? If you're a fan of the guy, you may be the only one (aside from his Mom). The guy is a fucking fraud. I'm not sure Boston fans could dislike a guy more and he's brought it all on himself. It's one thing to go out there and completely suck ass (as he has). It's another thing to show up teammates in the middle of a game and act like them not catching a tricky fly ball is the reason he has an E.R.A. of almost 7 and then get in front of the media and say you feel great and are throwing the ball well. This guy is a fucking moron and doesn't belong anywhere near a real major league baseball team. He could win the Cy Young the next three years (you have a better chance of me becoming a Steelers fan and liking all things New York), and I would still never root for the guy! As far as I'm concerned, it's Theo's worse signing ever and should be grounds for firing his ass! Matsu suck bag is easier to watch then this fraud on the mound. He needs to go back to single A ball and start riding the buses again!

All baseball fights are lame. Enjoy it Ed. That will probably be the "highlight" of Baltimore's season. They are an AWFUL baseball team. Orioles fans are misguided of they think Showalter is winning anything. That fucker couldn't win with the Yankees!

I'm not a fan of the guy at all. I don't get to see the Sox play all that much and haven't seen him pitch probably more than a couple of times, so I wasn't really aware of his attitude. He doesn't sound like the kind of teammate I would want.

The last baseball fight I saw that was any good was when someone charged the mound against Kyle Farnsworth while he was still with the Cubs. Farnsworth saw the guy coming out, took off straight at him and launched himself towards the guy and took him completely out of the picture. Priceless!

As for Ortiz and Gregg...Those guys both fight worse than 13-year old girls.

Man, you must know a lot of jackasses.

Speaking of jackasses...Lackey's pitching today and has allowed 7 hits through 3 innings. Fortunately, the Sox are pounding the ball on offense so far, though.

Time to Fire Francona?

Postby annie89509 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:32 am

He's not going to get fired if the BoSox keep winning.

Speaking of pitcher with powerful stuff but is wild. Giants and their fans have one in Jonathan Sanchez. Don't know what to do with the guy...well, he's currently on the DL. Opposing batters were hitting like .176 but he also avgs. like 8 walks a game. He's also the only current Giants pitcher with a no-hitter on his resume, probably has the best stuff of any of their starters, but his inability to throw strikes at key moments drives everybody crazy...except to the opposing team. They can't hit it...just get the ball over the plate...for pete sakes... :x    8)

Unbelievable, another bases loaded - no out situation - squandered...Terry refuses to play small ball. He thinks he can mash his way to victory every time. Given 7 walks in 3 innings. Wow. Just wow. Way to blow another gem by Beckett...he spun a beaut.

Anyone else been keeping track of Ryan Lavarnway at Pawtucket? Dude has been tearing the cover off the ball at Pawtucket. I'm not sure how he is defensively but the Sox have to be looking at this guy seriously at the catcher position. He hit over well over .300 at AA Portland with 14 HR in 208 AB and he's doing even better at Pawtucket, hitting .377, slugging .723, and has 12 2B and 11 HR in 130 AB. I know that doesn't necessarily translate to major league success but he's definitely doing what it takes to eventually earn a trip to the majors.

Great stats....I don't know, I think the Sox made a mistake in not making Tek the bench coach a couple of years ago...He could have been teaching some young offensive catcher his skills as a game caller. Cause everyone knows he is the best in the game.

There are a few gems in the Sox farm system: Iglesias, Lavarnway, Middlebrooks...etc. I really hope that they don't trade some of these guys away for Beltran. Dude is always hurt. Mets already asked for Redddick, Iglesias, and Dubront....Kalish is another one I hope breaks out and becomes something....

We don't need Beltran. Drew just needs to retire. Biggest bust this side of Slackey. I HATED that acquisition the second they made it and I hate it all the more now.

I wouldn't mind seeing them get Beltran...They would have a hell of an outfield with him out there, though.

Lavarnway actually hit ANOTHER home run last night.

I don't know...I'm not as hot on Iglesias as everyone else is. He hasn't exactly caught fire at the plate in the minors and only has a slugging percentage in the mid 200s. I understand that he's supposedly a phenom with the glove but he's gotta be able to hit better than that at the big league level.

First and second with nobody out, bottom of the order up...and you don't sacrifice the runners over with King Felix on the hill? Salty strikes out, and Scutaro hits into double play...inning over ZERO RUNS....yeah, terry thinks he can mash his way into win after win. HORRIBLE strategy....

Buchholz may be done for the season, Dice-k is done for the season. Lackey, Wake, and Miller can't be trusted....we only have 2 starting pitchers in Lester and Beckett...and all Theo can whip up is Aviles, a utilty player...and an injury-prone Rich Harden....and Miller is stinking up the joint today...and Tito keeps him in the game. I do not get it.....

And I'm hearing the Harden trade may have fell through....there's only 10 more minutes til the trade deadline.....
