^Wasn't this movie the one that was actually going to be directed by McG? I don't think that would have worked out too well.

Yeah man...they did some FUCKED up shit in it like Krypton never exploding; Jor-EL commiting suicide because Kal dies on Earth (and is later resurrected) and Lex Luthor being...a Kryptonian. And fans were mad in MoS because Pa Kent didn't die of his usual heart attack. That movie would have had many, if not all, commit suicide lmao. I know they signed Abrams before he was as big as he is today.

And Nicholas Cage as Superman in Superman Lives, ughhh. There's a documentary coming out by Shnep from AMC Theaters. I'm interested in seeing how awful it would have been lol.

I agree 1,000,000% on the JL:Mortal rush-job as well. This DCCinamaticUniverse is coming to light the right way. What could have been. Man oh man, what could have been. :x

Huh? Give me a break. People would have burned it at the stake. Singer's movie would have been hailed as a wet dream. And Henry would have been SOL!

There's speculation concerning the possibility of this dude playing Robin in Suicide Squad. Not familiar with him.

P.S. Definitely not Robin. Maybe Red Hood. He'll be using guns.

Diane Lane is an earth mother in 'Batman v Superman'

“She’s the antithesis of a superhero. She represents mother earth in every way. It’s another era now. Martha got a job. She’s still available as a parent is, forever,” says Lane.“I can’t reveal anything about the storyline. The script was redacted,” she says. “I’m so naive. I didn’t know what the word spoiler meant. I thought it was a phenomenon. Why would anyone do that?”

http://entertainthis.usatoday.com/2015/ ... -superman/

Lmao, they redacted all the scripts so nothing would leak. Not even Diane Lane read the whole thing. #WBNINJAS

Apparently WB Is Having Trouble Creating A Cohesive DC Movie Universe

Marvel has Kevin Feige, Warner Bros. has... well, nobody if the details contained in the following report are accurate. It seems that even though the studio has lots of movies in the pipeline, there's no leader in place to call the shots and ensure everyone's on the same page...

THR has posted a report on the state of Warner Bros.' budding DC cinematic universe, and by the sounds of things they might be in a bit of trouble. The main problem seems to be the lack of any one person steering the ship and making sure everything is being set up to gel together. The closest thing they have to this type of figure is probably Zack Snyder, but while the director is said to be broadly overseeing the journey towards Justice League, he's a little busy with Batman V Superman to give much else his full attention. Because of this WB has apparently adopted more of a "filmmaker-driven approach", with David Ayer, for example, being given full creative control over Suicide Squad.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Although Marvel's output syncs up very well as a shared universe, their movies have also been criticised for seeming a bit generic, or "samey". WB's approach is definitely a riskier one, but it may ultimately yield better individual films.

Even if that's the case though, it doesn't sound like anyone THR spoke to about this believes it's a smart move. We already knew the studio had hired multiple writers to work on competing scripts for Wonder Woman, and it looks like they've followed suit with Aquaman. Apparently Will Beall, Jeff Nichols and Kurt Johnstad are all penning separate takes on the King of Atlantis. This approach was described as "throwing shit against the wall to see what stuck" by one insider.

What do you guys think? Should Warner Bros. focus on finding their own Kevin Feige, or are you happy with the plan they seem to have in place? You can read the full piece at the link below.

I read the article earlier today. Warner will continue to draw fire for not devising a scheme that echoes Marvel Studios' move for move.

Multiple treatments, scripts and rewrites are the order of the day in Hollywood. The Marvel movies from Disney, Fox and Sony have not been free of this. The first Cap movie apparently had many different scripts prepared.

Is it really about throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks, or simply having more options to choose from?

That entire article is nothing but Marvel-slurpage and click bait.

I actually liked what I heard, though if true. I would rather them hit walls and have 30 screenplays if that means they are committed to nailing it with the end product be the right one. This goes on with practically every movie in the creative process where multiple screenplays are written and the studio takes what they like from multiple screenplays and forms their own puzzle together to add just the right elements to the story that make it something solid to greenlight and get their ducks in order. If true, I'm glad WB is in this process for their superhero properties because that means the juices are flowing and they are serious about getting it right. Hell, some things are even changed DURING filming and some producers, directors or executives can and will change things on the fly. It's just how it works. v is right. Since WB is not following Marvel's formula, they are going to be under scrutiny for doing things different and if by some chance they DO go a little Marvel-ish, people will complain that they are just copying Marvel.

Maybe it's a good thing, though, because it's publicly known that Joss Whedon has been feuding with Marvel about AoU and couldn't wait to get the hell out because he had his vision, and the studio had their vision and he had to cut some major shit out what he wanted in his movie, so maybe it's good WB and DC trusts in their director's and give them full-fledge control without studio execs pissing down their backs.

With BvS about to hit full-fledge marketing come SDCC and Suicide Squad hot on its own trail, everything else is just hot air and white noise at this point.

I just saw that Marvel has released ANOTHER AoU clip via Dr. Pepper. And the movie's less than 48 hours away. I'm glad I'm not watching any of those promos.

The point is, Marvel has a plan. They have taken the time and effort to plot a story arc all the way to Infinity War Part 2. So far, they have done an incredible job of sticking to it and hitting key plot points along the way...it has been masterful storytelling.

DC really only has a plan for two films BvS, and JL. It has not even been made clear if the Wonder Woman and Aquaman solo films connect into the big picture of this universe. Suicide Squad clearly doesn't connect at all.

The critique isn't "DC isn't doing what Marvel is doing." The critique is DC doesn't know what they are doing as far how their movies flow from one to the next...in fact, they don't seem to want to flow at all.

For Marvel, if you go to "Age of Ultron", you know that is going to connect into "Civil War" in significant ways...and therefore, that person is more likely to see "Civil War". For DC, if you see BvS, it has no known impact on Suicide Squad. So, there is not that additional incentive to see the next movie.

Now, of course, BvS will connect into Justice League. But, there is nothing beyond that. Sure, they have movies in the pipe...but no big picture has been created in significant any way at all.

Yes, they do. That's been made clear. Very clear.

Of course it does. Why else would the new Batmobile (and Ben Affleck, reportedly) be on the set?

I know that by "the big picture," you mean a sequence of films that culminates in something cataclysmic along the lines of Crisis on Infinite Earths. We don't know what they're going to build to just yet, as they have yet to reveal it. I expect we'll see the likes of Darkseid down the line. There are many ways they could go.

Either that, or last minute reshoots for BvS.

Not sure why that matters, when a lot of filming takes place on an indoor soundstage. If reports are to be believed, additional footage with Affleck and Leto is being filmed, possibly for BvS.

I can see this, especially things lining up with the rumor of a classic Joker scene (through flashback) rumored to appear in BvS as apart of Bruce's origins. While they were filming BvS last year, Leto probably wasn't available to them at the time with final contractual things going on or conflicting schedules. That's all up for speculation but even if they were doing some shooting for BvS, they are still going to use Bats for Suicide Squad, to what extent though is up in the air. Arkham is a big part of who Batman is so he will be some kind of presence in SS.

If they only needed Leto, I don't think they'd (need to) shuttle Affleck and the Batmobile and its crew to another physical location. Batman will likely have a larger presence in Suicide Squad than anyone anticipated. Trav, where's that hashtag?

Yeah, I don't think they're shooting anything BvS related. This is a full SSquad production.

Batfleck in his Bat-suit on the set of SS so it looks like Bats is going to make more than just a candid appearance.

Do you watch DC Movies News? One of them suggested/heard that the line—Do you bleed? You will.—may not necessarily be Batman's, but that of a villain. (Brainiac?)

I did hear that v. SHH debated it as maybe Mullvay being Metallo but I don't buy it for a split second. I hear Affleck through and through and the teaser made sure to focus on Batman and Superman. Though there may be another villain popping up, that's all Affleck in the teaser.

Also, in the beginning of the trailer with all the voice montage, you hear a voice pop-up that's low and gruff say "ALIEN" real quick. We think that's Affleck's regular Bat voice
