I think they managed to play 10 songs in 2 hours

Played 1 song each off Orchid,My Arms Your Hearse, Still Life, Blackwater Park, Damnation and Deliverance.
They played Ghost of Pedition, Baying of the Hounds, The Grand Conjuration off the new one....and they also did a cover of Deep Purple's 'Soldier of Fortune' which was excellent.

S-dip, I didn't do anything to the guitar. The strap just broke and I watched it fall right into the floor, all within a second. Horrible! :(
Anyway, I'm glad it could be repaired!

Damnation is the album where the growler sings, right? Does he sing all through the album, or just here and there?

They must have rushed a bit through their set then!

Oh, it must have been so awesome... all my favourites off Ghost Reveries no less. And Soldier Of Fortune! That was a cleanly sung version I suppose?

What a horrible accident indeed! :( Those are the moments when just a second lasts a long time.

Yes he sings, throughout the entire album not one growl. ;)

But you know, I disliked the death metal voice at first, for quite some time actually. But the quiet parts in the louder songs made me want to listen to those songs again, so I just tried to listen past the death metal voice by focussing on the music underneath. And at some point I suddenly got it, and it all made sense. In fact, the contrast between the loud and quiet parts is what makes the songs more interesting, and there just has to be a death metal voice, otherwise it won't fit.

Hello Terri and everybody elese!

It's Friday night again, at least here in Sweden. Dragonforce is a cool name, kind of reminds me of Yngwie's "Rising Force" and pre-Europe "Force"! Anyway, my usual question: What's up for the weekend?

I'm helping relatives with their shopping. I can only hope they run out of money before they purchase something heavy.

If time allows, I've been busy with my bro on the band project. We got all our equipment, and most of the tracks have been layed down. But we have no set-in-stone band lineup yet. It's currently just me, him, and a bunch of line musicians. I've had a few ideas for a Power Metal effort as well, but they have to wait until we're done this project first.

Thomas, do you have any ties with any of the other musicians in the Swedish AOR scene? I keep hearing about new Shiva and Alyson Avenue releases, yet nothing has come of either.

Jonny, I'm sorry to say that I've heard nothing at all. I spoke to Niclas, keyboarder of Alyson Avenue a couple of weeks ago but it seems like it's a dead end!

Where are the females, I wan't 'em right now?

You rang? 8)

Hasn't Mic Michaeli been looking for his razor since the eighties? He had a stubbly look back then, or at least that's what I remember!

Oh, speaking of which, I remember when Bjorn Ulvaeus decided to grow a beard and he went with Benny to a premiere, there were suddenly two Bennys! Mic Michaeli hasn't turned into another Benny I hope?

It's a gorgeous day outside, going to enjoy the sun with a book, a beer (a couple probably) and some music.

I'm only thankful that my folks convinced me not to take my vacation in May. We've had only 4 days of good weather all month. Straight rain otherwise. I thought last year was just a freak incident, but to have a second May in a row like this is just unbelievable.

Yeah it sucks when it rains on your holiday... You're supposed to have good weather in May already? I'm jealous! It's off and on with the weather at that time over here, and at the moment it's very off! With the amount of rain that has been falling I just hope that means there's no more rain left by the time it's June!
Did you plan a holiday for later in the year instead? I suppose July and August are more reliable for a holiday?

SnakeLady wrote:Late in the evening went to visit friends ....had a couple of Rosé with some cheese very nice.

Your evening was a lot like mine yesterday! Without the Rosé though, I had to drive us back home. And we had fried fish with peas and carrots for dinner instead of Swedish balls...

Hmm fried fish sounds tasty aswell  You should try the Swedish balls sometime

Yes the weather is very off ...indeed hope there is no more rain left for June  ......also it would be nice if it doesn´t rain on 25th of May.

July & August are reserved for upper management only. But I've scheduled my floaters during this span, which I'm allowed to do (floaters are individual days off that we can schedule any day we want. I'm using them on various days during the summer.)

My holiday is scheduled for mid-October. Fall foliage will be at its peak, and summer temperatures in Maine has a bad habit of lingering into October.

We have Swedish meatballs quite often. They're a very easy dinner and very tasty. I buy them by the kilo at the Ikea store in Perth. Cheating I know, but cooking is not my favorite hobby. :D
