I agree 100%.

Me too. As for the comments about Palin not caring about Alaska because she quit her job as governor, I'm not really sure how I feel about that. I mean she certainly did quit her job as governor, but then I think about all the politicians who give up their job as governor, senator, etc when they are running for another office (as Obama and Hilary and countless others have done) without actually stepping down from the office. They're getting paid for doing the people's work, that they aren't actually doing. Another way to look at it is that she should be commended for acknowledging that she would not live up to the expectations of the position because of other things she would be doing.

Personally, I don't care either way what she has done. I haven't watched the show, don't care to watch it, and don't think she should be a presidential candidate. There are some people who I believe would make our country less secure with them holding that job. Palin is one... Obama is another. I like her as a person, though.

Agreed! The ONLY reason I watch the show is because of the lifestyle she lives-she loves the outdoors-just as I do. She's very active-just as I try to be. They show lots of awesome wildlife and wilderness and I LOVE that stuff. I practically live in Yellowstone every weekend I have off during the spring, summer and fall....and used to be winter until they closed it to snowmobiles  . It has NOTHING to do with the politics. I know a lot of the show is staged or creatively edited-but all TV is...I still like the show and I still support people's right to hunt and fish as long as they are going to use the meat-or give it to someone who will.

Have you seen the conditions of the beef/chicken/pork we eat? Do you have any idea how inhumane it is? How is that OK but killing a wild animal that has lived in prime conditions, eaten a diet of herbs suited to it's body, no chemicals, no antibiotics-is not OK? I do know that there can be diseased wild animals but there are FAR more diseased animals that are grown specifically for food.

How many animals have you seen shot and killed in the wild by hunters? I've seen enough to know that 95% of the time it's not a clean kill, the animals suffers just like anything that's being killed would. Please, take your trite arguments and use them in Freeper land, they'll be appreciate there, they're just ridiculed here.

Dear, I grew up in Idaho-I'm familiar with hunting, I grew up hunting...if you're a good shot the animal doesn't feel a thing...and even if they do-they didn't suffer their entire life living in a fenced in area with countless other animals walking through 3 feet of feces.

I can respect your arguement that it's wrong to torture animals but you still haven't answered why it's OK to torture the animals you buy in the grocery store but it's not OK to kill the ones in the forest?

What's your definition of torture?

I think I already answered that-at least partially.

So, Bobby, are you a vegan?

Indulge me and then I'll answer your questions.

Holy fuck...Talk about being an idiot?

You got Palin beat by a mile...and that is saying something.

Now you aren't just a gay-rights activist (which is good), but now you are a member of PETA as well??

Seeing your comments, including the ones on you "knowing how to hunt" or some such, I can tell that at least on that part you are just plain lying. Someone who had ever hunted in their lives would say they are a hunter or were a hunter, not I know how to hunt.

There are of course times an animal is not shot correctly, and doesn't die immediately. But 95%? You are pulling that number out of your ass.

I am a life long hunter and just can't stand when some libtard like you spews off bullshit and then say you are going to ridicule someone who is actually pointing out valid facts and positions in support hunting.

Go back to advocating sucking dick and taking it in the ass, at least then you are on firm ground and know what the fuck you are talking about, it is obvious you know NOTHING about hunting or why people do it, and WHY it is necessary to have hunters out there, thinning the herd as it were.

Oh and the venison steak I had for dinner was delicious!

First off, FUCK YOU!! Harder than you'd like and more often than you need.

Secondly, if you can't hold two opposing thoughts in your head at once you don't need to be posting on a public forum, you embarrass yourself.

Just as I once worked at McDonalds and was a manager when I was 18 and I called myself a McDonalds Manager at the time, I once hunted, and was a hunter, but not having done it in over 25 years, I can say I know how to hunt, how to shoot, but I am no longer a hunter. You don't get to define every fucking aspect of everyone's life so get the fuck over it.

Of the hunts I've been on the clean kills were few and far between. Especially bow hunting. Everything I've said I can back up you just can't handle someone talking about guns unless they are preaching about your fuckin' 2nd amendment rights and how you should be able to shoot and own any gun you can get your greedy capitalist hands on.

Hunters tell themselves they are necessary to make themselves feel better in a day an age when no one that doesn't live in BFE really has a reason to hunt.

If you motherfuckers hadn't hunted and trapped every fuckin' thing you could get your hands on there would be natural predation instead of exploding deer populations.

I'm not a member of PETA and I think they are fuckin' crazy, but you sir are just as extreme as they are and just as fucked up when you try to reason your way out of your blood lust.

And the dick sucking and ass fucking comment shows me what a fucked up tea bagging son of a bitch you are.

You're not a hunter, you're a fuckin' killer. There's a big difference.

I love how you people make up shit in your feeble brains and talk yourselves into believing it. I guess once you declare yourself "Christian" you can believe anything, right?

You are just a mealy mouth piece of shit. At EVERY turn I have supported you and your rights on here...if you can't take a little good natured ribbing then fuck off. I'd call you a cocksucker, but that would be redundant wouldn't it?

I hunt to help thin the herd down, and provide food for my family dickwad. I prefer venison to beef.

What does being a Christian have to do with being a hunter or not?

When did I bring up the second amendment? I didn't did I?

You are all worked up over a deer getting killed...do you think hunting is a cleaner kill that being maimed and left to suffer and die on the side of the road while possibly hurting or even killing a human being?

And if you hunted with people that can't hunt that is their problem, they are just poor hunters, but they are in the minority.

The 1st deer I took with a fire arm this season dropped where she stood at 75 yards...she didn't even twitch when my bullet shredded her heart and lungs and dropped her. She is the 1st deer I took this year, the one I took with my bow didn't even know she had been shot...the arrow went right through her...she continued walking and eating, for about 10 feet, and then just dropped over.

As for cost, the bullets ran me $10, I reload my own ammo, I have had the bow and the arrows for years so the cost is the broadhead, which is minimal when looked at over time. I put almost 320lbs of meat in the freezer. Meat not tainted with antibiotics, hormones and the like.

My family will eat well this coming year, on the good meat I provided them. Which is my RIGHT. To provide food for my family in the method I choose to do so.

Your rant here shows you for what you really are: A libtard activist who isn't content with a well earned victory in civil rights, now you think because DADT is removed that for some reason you can now take other peoples right away because you disagree with their lifestyle . You preached EVERYTHING that you hate about Conservatives, you are easily as fucked up in your thinking as any right wing nut job. You want your rights, but want to deny other people theirs. Hypocrite. Excuse me, LYING hypocrite.

OK, pay attention, read carefully because I've already answered this a couple of time...I'll type slower this time for you...

Torture-raising animals in horrible living conditions such as animals walking around in two or three feet of feces. Keeping animals in buildings with no windows and packed in so tightly that they can't move around-feeding animals "food" that their digestive systems can't handle. Given animals hormones that make them grow so large they can hardly walk. Feeding them antitbiotics to "protect" the food source from being contaminated when in reality it is the diet they feed the animals that leads to the conatmination of the meat.

OK, your turn...

This may be veering off topic, but this is an interest of mine...

How do you manage to avoid supporting the factory farm establishment? I've found trying to get real organic and humanely raised meat isn't practical at all, so I've pretty much gone the pescatarian route, only shell fish and crustaceans, but no dairy or eggs. At first my interest was from a health standpoint but the more I learned about factory farming and corporate food domination, the more horrifying the whole situation looked.

And yes, I do support hunting, LOL.

It is a challenge...this is something that I'm really working on learning about-in fact, I'm considering cutting animal products completely out of my diet except for eggs that I buy from a friend of mine that raises his own chickens and I KNOW how they are treated and what they are fed...and of course wild meat!

The problem is that there are only a few companies in the US that control nearly all of the food in the US.

For those that want to learn more about factory farming-watch the documentary Food, Inc. It's very interesting-you can find it on Netflix.

Yep, that's a hard film to watch, especially the segment on little Kevin. I've also read quite a few books on the subject, and one I'd recommend is called "Eating Animals." I pretty much realized there was no way to avoid putting that filth into your body, or supporting the inhumane treatment of animals, without going vegetarian. Many would say eating fish still contributes to depleting the ocean and the unnecessary and inhumane killing of many sea creatures, but there's natural health benefits I need from fish, and I don't subscribe to the notion that animals like crabs and scallops really have the capacity to suffer. So it's pescatarian, no dairy or eggs, for me.

I haven't read that whole book but I have read parts and have heard a lot about it-I need to read it. I have a friend that's a physician and just also got her masters in public health and she had to do a project on the food sources in America-she read that book as part of it and when she was done she became vegitarian. Another physican that I work with is doing a fellowship in holistic medicine and this is something that he's promoting to his patients as well-no animal products. This is one of my New Year's Resolutions...

Check it out for sure...the whole subject is pretty frightening, especially when the topic turns to things like avian and swine flu, and the antibiotics that go into our food chain that essentially will guarantee a virus' immunity to vaccines & such...not so much a matter of if but when....anyway, nice chat, sorry about the passive aggressive throw down earlier...;)

It's all good, I have very thick skin.

I agree....there's even some concern-although not totally proven yet but seems very feasible to me-that the hormones are messing with children's bodies as well. Girls as young at 8 and 9 years old are developing breasts and menstruating when 50 years ago it was more like 13-15 years old. My family is very hardcore meat and potatoes-I have no idea how these new dietary changes will go over but I honestly feel like a failure as a mother for feeding my kids these foods for so long!
