Homeless people who just can't find a job and place to live have a much worse life out on the streets, not to mention a much less healthier life compared to that of people who spend the rest of their lives behind bars such as this guy will and others like him. The only other people who can go from Joe Blow nobody to not having to worry about where they will live or how they will pay bills for the rest of their lives is people who usually win the big lotteries. So basically these guys getting life in prison without the possibility of parole ever have basically won the lottery of sorts. Wow, what a punishment. And exactly what is the message this punishment is sending to the individuals contemplating murder, rape, robbery, etc.?
