I've been enjoying a lot of the Listen, Learn, Read On set of discs by Deep Purple...

And I'm also awaiting the new work from Patricia and Fran.

I finally set the time to beat this album to death. My AOTW goes to Ayreon "The Human Equation." And I can finally say that this is the first ever double album where both discs are awesome all the way through. There's so much diversity and so many influences (not to mention all those keyboards that had me drooling for 2 and a 1/2 hours) that I don't even know where to start.

Why I overlooked this album in 2004, I'm not sure. But by far, it's the best one well-ahead of a below-average rock year.

No, the keyboardist did. (Gregg Munier.) R.I.P. Gregg.

My AOTW goes to Prophet "Recycled." Although not as good as their first two albums, they still show they can write a better traditional 80's rock album than a majority of the saturation-era bands.

I'm torn between Xandria - India and the solo album from Mostly Autumn's Iain Jennings (Breathing Space). Or rather ex-Mostly Autumn, since he just upped and went.

I don't have an AOTW. I've been deeply immensed in the Winter Olympics, despite the below-average coverage. So I will default to the next disc in my 5 CD carousel: Nightwish "Oceanborn."

Does that mean Mostly Autumn is now a female voice-only affair? Looks like I'll be sinking my teeth into the next album. :D Does that now make them only Partly Autumn, or a Hint of Winter?

(Yes, it was a lame attempt at a joke.)

That means you dont want to see if Radical can get for you, Penny.
ATOW is "Rest In Sleaze" by Crashdeit, a hairspray band from Sweden I think.

I emailed Radical about it doggy, the minute I got the addy from you, but I didn't hear back from him. That was a week and a half ago. When I want something, I want it now. :D I also haven't heard back from him about a t-shirt question. Maybe you could remind him to check his emails.

Tali, I like that Pyramaze album. Thanks for the heads up about a new one.

I think you are confusing Bryan Josh with Iain. Iain is the keyboardist, Bryan singer/guitarist. I do think that in the Iain's new band the singer will be female though. I bet that she will be Olivia Sparnenn, since she also did the vocals on Breathing Space. And as an afterthought you might like Odin Dragonfly. That's a sideproject from the Mostly Autumn-girls. No album as of yet, so I can't give any directions...

And personally I would go with Always Summer

Great album. I just wish I could find them on CD. I have the first two on cassette, and the third on CD. But the third one was released years after the band broke up.

Hmmmm. I guess I did confuse the two. Losing the keyboardist is a really big blow, especially when a band had one as good as Iain.

My AOTW goes to (checking cd carousel) Genesis "The Platinum Collection." Even though it's not a complete collection by any means, it's worth getting just for the remixed tracks. In particular, the remix of "The Knife" is something else. Who would've thought the so-called modern phone box effect has been around for over 30 years?
