At this point, you gotta start wondering about the Broncos' playoff chances. They are favorites to win the division right now, and they'd of course have homefield in the first game. Could be a huge trap for whichever wild card team goes into Denver. Hell, if Seattle could beat the Saints at home last year, anything can happen.
Hmm. Just punched in the playoff scenario. If they started today, it would be the Steelers heading to Denver. I don't see that being the final scenario, but I could see the Steelers having trouble in this matchup. The Steelers don't put up tons of points (usually), Denver's D has been very good, and the Steelers CAN get tripped up by gimmick shit from time-to-time (e.g., Cribbs running the wildcat all over them in 2009).

The NFL is a booming business and one that's set to continue growing exponentially over the next decade, thanks to the latest CBA providing 10 years of labor peace.
The business of growing began in earnest on Wednesday at the NFL owners meetings when the league announced a nine-year extensions of television agreements with CBS, FOX and NBC.
"NFL clubs have approved 9-year extensions of TV agreements w/CBS, FOX, NBC thru 2022," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tweeted. "NFL stays on broadcast TV."
The new television deals will provide some changes to current coverage. For instance, CBS will begin broadcasting NFC and AFC games for the first time in the history of the partnership.
“CBS has been broadcasting the NFL for 52 years, and we are extremely pleased to extend our long-term partnership,” said Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports. “This commitment is further proof of the valued relationship CBS shares with the NFL and of the overall strength of CBS Sports. The opportunity to add quality NFC games greatly enhances our television package. We look forward to continued growth as we broadcast the NFL for many more years to come.”
As a result of the extended agreement, CBS will broadcast Super Bowl L in 2016, Super Bowl LIII in 2019 and Super Bowl LVI in 2022, in addition to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans in 2013. Fox and NBC will also televise three Super Bowls over the course of the agreement.
The Thanksgiving night game, aired on the NFL Network since its inception, will be moved to NBC beginning in 2012, giving each major broadcast network a holiday game.
Additionally, the deal also provides for an expanded Thursday night package on NFL Network and the possibility for "flexing" games between Fox and CBS, the latter beginning in 2014.

I'm looking to find an article with some numbers in it.
Enigma869 wrote:Scary thought for Patriots fans this weekend. These are the numbers that sucky QB's going against New England's putrid defense have put up this season:
Chad Henne - 416 Yards
Ryan Fitzpatrick - 369 Yards
Jason Campbell - 350 Yards
Vince Young - 400 Yards
The Immortal Dan Orlovsky - 353 Yards
Touchdown Jesus up next

All day long. You saw the names on that list who lit up the Patriots secondary. I'm still not sure what to make of Denver. They're clearly a playoff team, but, they've faced the likes of Caleb Hanie, Tylar Palko, Christian Ponder and Carson Palmer recently. None of those guys are NFL QB's. I can only hope that most of Tebow's yards on Sunday are in garbage time, while the Patriots have a three TD lead. I'm still not convinced, given that Brady is 1-5 against Denver (the only team in the NFL the guy doesn't have a winning record against).

I saw that. Another genius among us.
Ehwmatt wrote:Newest reports indicate that they have a list of at least "double digit" NFL players who were among Hurd's clientele. This could get ugly.
I imagine some players are blowing up their lawyers'/agents' cellphones.

And i'm glad the Titans grabbed Jake Locker a spot or two before the Jags could scoop him up.I was scared to death Tennessee was going to pick Gabbert and i was hoping the whole time for Locker. In my opinion when he gets some experience i think Locker is gonna be the real deal.

He looked good for you guys man. Learning under Hasselbeck for a year has to be great for him. I haven't kept close tabs, but I'd imagine Hasselbeck is a pretty willing mentor.
I mean wasn't Locker the consensus top pick in the draft if he had come out the year before? Then he had a mediocre season last year, right? The guy can definitely play.
I guess I’m just annoyed that in today’s NFL you don’t have to ever run the ball nor do you have to play defense.
There is only one way to win, and that’s throwing the ball. You used to have a great defensive team, and then a team that ran it down the throat of the defense, and then a team that air’d it out. Different paths to winning a Super Bowl.
Today’s NFL is about as cookie cutter as it can get.

From the Packers' Jermichael Finley:
“I sit at home, start watching TV and all I’m seeing is Tebow. That’s kind of disturbing. We have a guy here that’s breaking records every week and you have a guy in Tebow that’s saying ‘God’ every word and he gets coverage. Of course I love my faith and God. but come on man.”

Tough for me to disagree with it. I don't want to listen to Touchdown Jesus wax poetic about "God" any more than I want to listen to some NFL player talk about abortion or gun control in his post-game press conference.

Maybe, but I'm not buying it. I just don't see a team beating this Packers team. Their defense isn't superb, but it doesn't matter with Rodgers right now.

A friend of mine said that with the Packers D they will probably lose...and I pointed out what you did John...it doesn't matter if their D gives up 40 if the offense scores 50!
