http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... /?a=123366Now, many fans have accused Warner Bros. of not having any sort of plan, but the magazine was lucky enough to see a board which maps out how and where the movies take place in the DC Extended Universe and how they all link up to each other. Producer Deborah Snyder describes that as, "Kind of a timeline of what every movie is, where it is going, and where the films fit in relation to each other." Fellow producer Charles Roven meanwhile went into even further details about how they're ensuring that these movies all exist in the same world while not restricting their directors and writers too much. "We call it the sandbox. It has borders around it, but everybody gets to play in the sandbox. On Suicide Squad, David Ayer has a lot of specific control over his area of the sandbox. Even if he crosses the line a little bit, we see if we can push our boundaries back a little bit."
Contrast that with the departure of Edgar Wright and Patty Jenkins, from Ant-Man and Thor: The Dark World, respectively, because of Marvel's their-way-or-the-highway antics, as also confirmed by Joss and Alan Taylor.
Monker wrote:As long as these movies are connected to a larger story, there will ALWAYS be plot points the writers and directors are required to hit - otherwise the stories would not be connected...and there will ALWAYS be some control they have to let go of.

I have grown a little tired of the Marvel movies of late, while good, they seem to stuck in a rut or a "ground hog day" scenario. Have the movies seem to be set up the same, with the hero fighting someone like them. Hopefully DC will avoid this as much as possible. Only time will tell.

I can't wait. They say her fight scenes are "intense and brutal."
Do you know who the other actresses they auditioned are?

The longest I lasted with this piece of trash was about 50 seconds into the trailer before exiting out. 8% on Rotten Tomato's. RIP to Stan Lee's first iconic creation on the bigscreen. What they did to Dr. Doom should land them in prison. Forever.
According to an industry source who will remain anonymous, a cut of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice was screened for the film's crew and Warner bosses within the past 24 hours or so. "It's a near finished cut but not locked," our source tells us.
That screening was, we're told, a glowing success - to the point where Zack Snyder's movie received a "standing ovation".
Warner is said to be so impressed with Affleck's performance as Batman that it's apparently in the process of making an extended, "Golden deal", which could see the actor play the Caped Crusader in a trilogy of stand-alone movies, not the single outing already announced.

Warner Bros has pushed back two movies involving Ben Affleck. The Accountant, the Gavin O’Connor-directed film that Affleck stars in, has been pushed from its January 29, 2016 berth to open October 7, 2016. At the same time, Warner Bros has moved from October 7, 2016 to an undated 2017 berth for Live by Night, Affleck’s adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel that he also plans to star in.
All of this shines a light on the story Deadline broke during Comic-Con, that Affleck was quietly teaming with DC’s Geoff Johns to write a freestanding Batman movie that Affleck will direct and star in. Warner Bros would not even confirm this at the time, but I believe they were already moving fast on that script and that Affleck wanted to finish it before going off to helm Live By Night, a film that reunites him with Lehane. Affleck made his directorial debut on Lehane’s novel Gone Baby Gone. This positions Warner Bros to be able to rebirth its Batman franchise and get production underway after Live By Night, which begins shooting in November. Warner Bros has a steady stream of DC Comics movies coming, but having a new Batfilm by the director of the Best Picture winner Argo has to be a huge priority. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice bows March 25, 2016, and Justice League comes out November 17, 2017. Affleck’s Batman movie will pick up the storyline from where those left off.

With Snyder being busy with BvS; Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2, the next solo Superman outing could fall in between those two films. In a recent interview, Snyder passed on making a standalone Batman film, which is obviously going to Ben Affleck who will direct his Bat movies.
Names that are popping up for Supes:
Zack Snyder
George Miller
JJ Abrams
Darren Aronofsky

For MoS2, if Zack can't do it, George Miller is the man for the job. He has decades of experience and knows how to direct tense action and quieter scenes.
I don't know about Abrams. The more of his work I see, the more "one note" he seems. Star Trek Into Darkness lost me somewhere around the halfway point, but a lot of that had to do with the script and not just the direction.
I once thought guys like Aronofsky were the "bold new face" of feature film directing, but at this point, and especially after Noah, and the reveal of his bizarre concept for Batman, I don't think he's right for directing/adapting CBMs.
One guy who I'd like to see direct a DC property is Frank Darabont. The Mist and the first season of The Walking Dead are awesome.
YoungJRNYfan wrote:I can see it eventually being Miller. He's said in a recent interview that he has been linked and contacted by WB for a "big property" and absolutely LOVES DC. He's a DC guy through and through, grew up with reading DC and has obviously been linked before with Justice League: Mortals.
YoungJRNYfan wrote:A sleeper director could be Matt Reeves, who is more of an emotionally driven; character development director and could do well in the mind of Superman.
