No halftime show at Super Bowl 2014? That’s the word, according to planners who say the weather may prevent appearances at matchup XLVIII, set for New Jersey.

“It’s because of the cold weather,” said one involved with next year’s Super Bowl planning, in a New York Post report. “It’s not only the acts and the singers, but also the crews that have to put the stage together. … You just can’t assemble the stage and break it down fast enough in the cold.”

The halftime shows are a huge fucking waste of time anyway. Fine by me. I think having this game in NY is much more moronic than not having a halftime show. Ultimately, if the weather is reasonable, no big deal. If a blizzard hits, look out!

Frank Gore claims Niners are better team. While I may not even disagree, it's a statement a player on the losing team simply can't make!

They are the future. I won't disagree on that.

Too young and a veteran team got it done.

I wouldn't anoint the 49'ers just yet. The league has a tendency to catch up to mobile quarterbacks. Kaepernick will have to learn to become a pocket passer at some point in the near future. San Fran has a number of key players in free agency, and age is a factor in many key positions.

I agree that nothing is guaranteed in this NFL. However, the Niners are relatively young. I read the average age is like 27. Also, I am pretty sure I read that only 3 starters are not signed for next season and they have possibly 14 draft pics. Does that say they will be a dynasty, abolutely not, especially playing in a division that is much improved. Kap has shown that he can quite the accurate pocket passer. I would admit that he has more learning and experience to gain, but his beginning is bright. I think he has shown he is and will be more than just a scrambling/running type of QB. It is nice to have those skills when you need to call on them though.

Kaep survived this year on his athletic ability...

I think the most ironic part of the SB was that they really could have used a big, bruising RB like Brandon Jacobs... oh wait.. they released him... lol

I still think while Kaep is their best asset.. he's also their biggest liability. Harbaugh took advantage of that with the play design. Balance was the 9ers advantage before. Kaep is obviously more dynamic, but his presences skews the balance, and not in a good way. It's why after the switch we saw lots of guys stop getting touches.

Harbaugh's now "all in" and he's going to to build the 9ers offense around Kaep's athletic ability, which changes the balance they'd achieved by spreading the ball around, it also means the 9er O becomes easier to defend... simply focus on disrupt Kaep's timing.. and you reduce his efficiency... and he's always one hit away from becoming RGIII.

And the 9ers are about to lose/release/trade his backup...

As revealed on NFL Films' Super Bowl XLVII edition of "Sound FX" Wednesday night (see video above) on NFL Network, Flacco had an interesting contingency plan as the Ravens lined up for a free kick to the San Francisco 49ers' Ted Ginn Jr. with 4 seconds left in the game.

We'll pick it up as Flacco paces the sideline, approaching tight end Dennis Pitta.

Flacco: "If he starts to break it, go tackle him."

Pitta: "Really?"

Flacco: "I don't know ... what else can ... I mean, they might be able to get a touchdown on that, but I don't know."

Sensing he's not getting anywhere with Pitta, Flacco seeks to recruit others for his plan, turning to face center Matt Birk and offensive tackle Michael Oher.

"Hey, if he breaks it, if he busts this for some reason, tackle him; go tackle him ... I don't know what the rule is on that, but ..."

Birk: "Why can't you?"

Flacco: "I will -- I'm going to."

Will be interesting to see where Alex Smith lands in 2013....

Kansas City would be my first guess followed by Cleveland.

Some are saying N.Y. Jets or perhaps Arizona.

If the Jets let Sanchez go i could see Smith going there. If Arizona lets Kolb go he could also land in AZ.

The Jets are about to sign JeLardass Russell and have him and Sanchez duke it out in 2013. LMFAO. This has to be the most dysfunctional organization in all of professional sports.

Ladies and gentleman, your 2013 Baltimore Ravens emotional leader! Lmao. Baltimore's going to find out real quickly that losing leadership is bigger than imaginable.

This is an interesting question for me, because I REALLY love snow games and always have. That said, I'm not sure the biggest game of the season should be played in such weather. The reality is that if the Super Bowl were today or tomorrow in Boston, it would be impossible to play the game, given the current conditions.

Even though Aloha Staidum only holds about 50,000, I'd rather the Super Bowl be played there. What better place to play the big game than paradise? Would be better use of the stadium than the Pro Bowl.
