How do you know someone's IP address on here?
I can answer that, Jana, but for right now I will play the wait & see game. If push comes to shove, I'll shove. When all my crap with Dan started last fall, I asked Behshad not to reveal where I live b/c I occasionally have problems with the fake Godfather-esqe brothers of my fake ex. So far, they don't know where I fake live. Matt's kind of pushed the boundaries on that today, but I'll just eat that one right now.
So now we play the wait game. Ah.... the internet. Gotta love it.
I don't think your ex's brothers are going to be checking MR to find out where you live. This is a connected world. It's very easy to find people in this connected day and age. Believe me.
Look dude, or whoever you really are, let me try and be reasonable with you here and this is gonna get long:
We're here at a music forum for a specific niche of music. As much as there have been fights and disagreements, we're all here for ostensibly the same thing: We love this music. It's the Internet, a lot of us haven't met many of the people that we'd call "MR friends" in real life... myself, I've met just a few people here. At the same time, though most wouldn't be "true" friends as it's really defined if they don't ever meet, most of the regulars on here have been open about their lives and shared some details and even a pic here and there. When I first started posting here, I didn't think I'd end up meeting people from here, but I have, and they've turned out to be great people. Part of the reason we've hit it off so well just "meeting" for the first time at a concert is because the people I've met on here are honest about themselves and who they are.
You don't need to share every intimate detail about your life or share your entire family photo album to be "real" and "open" here. I certainly don't share every or even a lot of the details of my life here... first, no one would care and second, of course I don't want anonymous Internet browsers privy to my entire life story.
But, when someone like you comes traipsing in here, seemingly fully acquainted and at home with the at-first intimidating world of posting here, talking about being a gay stripper who has a kid whose ex-girlfriend pushed him down a stairs and whose brothers come straight out of the Sopranos, yet don't post any pics or anything to prove who you are with a flimsy excuse like being afraid of being Photoshopped and having even the mundane details you do share turn out to be false (eg location), something stinks. You truly sound like a Lifetime TV character. Your stories are absurd. It is what it is.
Maybe you're real, in which case I'm sure we'd all happily eat crow. At the end of the day, even the people I totally disagree with and have been "mean" to on here would find me to be a fun guy to catch a show with. Maybe we wouldn't all end up being best friends outside of hitting a show, but there's not a person on here I wouldn't at least check a show out with, because we all love this music (well, okay, I'm not counting Phyllis here). But, the weight of the evidence sure militates against you being real at all. Maybe you can at least put yourself in our shoes and understand how crazy all of your stories sound, especially when they aren't even backed up by a single picture or an honest disclosure of the general area you live in. Compound that with a past of people on here creating all kinds of Internet personas and playing fraudulent games and it's not a far leap for people around here to be suspicious.
