This sucks man. Not your fault Drew. But that's a big hit against the show. While I won't be asking for any refund cause after all this is to support you and your site, I think I'll spend more time at the bar and hanging out with my MR family than checking out the show.

Well, your Chicago sister here has no problem with that. That's a huge part of why I'm going also... although, I was totally looking forward to seeing WET. Major epic bummer, but these things do happen. Not Drew's fault and not Jeff's fault.

And for the record, seeing TSO in the springtime when the snow is melting, the birds are serenading me awake me in the morning, and the temperatures are rising would be about as sensible and fun as a meet and greet with Friga.

I 100% promise you that TSO in the spring when birds are chirping is more fun than a meet and greet with Friga.

In fact, I remember standing there, as the hot ass sun blazed down on me, thinking "You know what, I really would rather be seeing TSO right now."

It is with great regret that I must announce that W.E.T. have today cancelled their appearance at MelodicRock Fest 2 in Chicago, on Saturday May 2.

Do they win the Harem Scarem award for this year?

The reason behind the cancellation is that vocalist Jeff Scott Soto is held on retainer for Trans-Siberian Orchestra to perform in their nationwide Spring tour of North America. Jeff was originally not scheduled to be part of the group's upcoming Spring dates, but a change of plans now requires to join the group.

Which background singer got injured in TSO? I'll give Soto this, he's a good call-up when you're in a pinch.

Refunds for any ticket holders coming specifically for the W.E.T. performance are available.

I wouldn't worry about this. You'll lose two ticket sales at worst. Plus, if you really have a million selling act replacing them, you'll probably pick up ticket sales. A major net gain.

I don't have that much time to comment on this development, so I'll just basically copy what others said in the Neal canceling thread. I'm sure those comments apply here too.

No, I always pay my own way. Usually, regardless of cost, if I really want to see a show, I'll go see it. It's the borderline shows where cost can be a deciding factor.

As for the JSS on retainer questions - the TSO is a fully fledged business/operation. They want their guys with them and they take great care of their "people".
