Except for the fact it's a bummer because seeing them live would have been awesome! But it doesn't affect how I feel about MRfest at all! :)

Well it does affect it for me somehow,,, and it does affect it for one canadian chica in a major way. I dont think I wanna be logged in here when she arrives and read this,,,,,

did I say it didnt' affect other people? Im pretty sure I was talking about myself :P And Deb loves Kip too, so though she will be disappointed and it will affect her, I'm sure she will still have a reason to be happy that day. And I would like to see who Andrew has in line for us too. I really don't care who's playing. It's about traveling and having fun :)

Well, your Chicago sister here has no problem with that. That's a huge part of why I'm going also... although, I was totally looking forward to seeing WET. Major epic bummer, but these things do happen. Not Drew's fault and not Jeff's fault.

(but I don't want to be here when Deb sees this either :( )

I 100% promise you that TSO in the spring when birds are chirping is more fun than a meet and greet with Friga.

In fact, I remember standing there, as the hot ass sun blazed down on me, thinking "You know what, I really would rather be seeing TSO right now."

Do they win the Harem Scarem award for this year?

Andrew wrote:The reason behind the cancellation is that vocalist Jeff Scott Soto is held on retainer for Trans-Siberian Orchestra to perform in their nationwide Spring tour of North America. Which background singer got injured in TSO? I'll give Soto this, he's a good call-up when you're in a pinch.

Andrew wrote:Refunds for any ticket holders coming specifically for the W.E.T. performance are available.

I wouldn't worry about this. You'll lose two ticket sales at worst. Plus, if you really have a million selling act replacing them, you'll probably pick up ticket sales. A major net gain.

I don't have that much time to comment on this development, so I'll just basically copy what others said in the Neal canceling thread. I'm sure those comments apply here too.

No. Even it was $10 (not sure what the cost really is). I wouldn't pay that for just one song regardless how good it is.

No, I always pay my own way. Usually, regardless of cost, if I really want to see a show, I'll go see it. It's the borderline shows where cost can be a deciding factor.

That's it....Night Ranger?! What about Brian Howe? Kings X? Firehouse? All those bands/singers put on an amazing show. A-ha is really playing the Riv? When was the last time they played in the states, anyway?

Night Ranger were already asked 3 times. I get the hint.
Firehouse are doing a Chicago show of their own, so I don't see them as adraw in a festival setting.

As for the JSS on retainer questions - the TSO is a fully fledged business/operation. They want their guys with them and they take great care of their "people".

The fact was that Jeff wasn't goign to do this leg as he had other tings on, but they decided upon a new plan that called him into duty and he agreed. Everybody's plans get thrown into dissaray, except the TSO, who need to be kept happy :)
JSS has a lot of work ahead of him with those guys this year, so he had no other choice really.

Nope. And I won't be again for a long time! I'm getting over a week long cold and stomache virus, and starting next week, I'll be training for my PT test on April 30th.
