Right, and so would have Jim Harbaugh's parents, hence my saying "almost nobody"!

I do not give the Giants much of a chance. While they are well balanced team, the odds of Brady
playing that bad again is pretty slim. Also the Pats D while not great by no means, is stepping up.
Gronkowski will remain unstoppable, the guys a monster. Pats 34 Giants 24

I think the Super Bowl is going to be a lot closer than anybody is giving credit for. Look back on all the Patriots' Super Bowl appearances. All have been very competitive close games. I don't see either team having a HUGE advantage over the other. Gronkowski is definitely a beast though. I'm wondering how that injury is going to hold up though. At least he has two weeks to rehab it!

And in that game, there were no players named Branch, Welker, Gronkowski, or Hernandez....your thought process is riddled with home cookin'.

You want to rely on exotic blitz packages, trying to rattle Tom? Brady will screen you to death. And on offense? Good luck with Flacco.

And look for Belichick to TAKE the opening KO in this game. He will NOT defer.

From a John Clayton piece today:

8. Will the "let them play'' officiating trend continue? Probably. Officials have kept flags in their pockets. Early word is the league is considering John Parry as the Super Bowl ref. He was the ref for the 49ers-Saints playoff game and called only three penalties, including no holding calls. During the regular season, his crew averaged 15.8 flags a game, fourth-most among the 17 crews. His 2.7 holding penalties a game were among the highest.

But officials have let teams play during the postseason. Officials called an average of 8.1 penalties a game during the postseason and had only eight holding calls in 10 games. A Parry-officiated game tends to be exciting. His 47.3 points a game during the regular season was the fifth-highest total among the crews. The Giants have had six of the eight holding penalties, so they probably will be flagged. Remember, in Super Bowls, they use all-star crews.

On another note, Brady has now played in the NFL for 10 seasons (I'm not counting the one season he missed) and has got to the Super Bowl half of the seasons he has played. That's an insane statistic.

That is certifiably insane. Same stat can be said with Roethlisberger. Ben was in his 7th season this season and he's been to 3 Super Bowls and 4 AFC Conference Title Games. Look at this trend of AFC QB's playing in the Super Bowl since 2001. It's ridiculous!

2001: Tom Brady, New England Patriots
2002: Rich Gannon, Oakland Raiders
2003: Tom Brady, New England Patriots
2004: Tom Brady, New England Patriots
2005: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
2006: Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts
2007: Tom Brady, New England Patriots
2008: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
2009: Peyton Manning, Indiapolis Colts
2010: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
2011: Tom Brady, New England Patriots

That's just incredible how dominant the Patriots, Steelers, and Colts have been in this last decade. Now wonder why people groan at the thought of those 3 teams (not so much Indy this season.) Can't count how many times I've seen or heard "....as long as it's not New England or Pittsburgh!"

Yeah, I'm not a fan of any of those teams, so seeing the same teams year in and year out be among the elite of the league is boring. However, I can't fault those teams for finding ways to stay competitive for the title year in and year out. The hardest thing to do is to keep a team together enough to duplicate those Super Bowl seasons, but apparently a lot of those teams have been able to plug in different players (with the exception of the quarterback position) and make it work.

On another note, did anyone listen to Flacco's post game presser yesterday? Guy is a complete fucking douche who I will never root for. Never in my life have I come across an NFL player who comes across like the complete jerk that this guy is. The guy is actually chastising the media and trying to convince them that he plays "the same every week" (because some media member had the nerve to talk about how exceptional Flacco played in yesterday's game). He actually told the media to "watch his tape" and then went on to say "If you don't like it, I don't care". What a fucking tool. This guy is straight out of the Ryan Leaf school of etitquette. I genuinely hope this fucker gets worse in the coming years, because guys like this are just bad for the NFL. Fuck you Flacco!

He's a dick. The Cowboys have a lot more problems than just Romo.

That's what I've been saying for YEARS and it all stems off the punk-attitude of their head coach. I see right through these guys because I happen to be a fan of the Steelers/Ravens rivarly where we get extra juice leading up to game time within town. I can't stand that son of a bitch. He's as obnoxious as it comes and complains more than ANY coach I've ever seen in his press-conferences and when he speaks to any type of media. Flacco is acting JUST like the head-coach and he's as smug as it gets. Never in my life have I seen the type of arrogance this team spouts to the media. Even Terrell Suggs today went on T.V and told Skip Bayless to "Stop being a douchebag." Come on, where's the professionalism? Nowhere to be found within these guys in Baltimore. The Gatorade baths week to week, starting with a dig to Pittsburgh (as well as an arrogant, fake extra-point, 2 point conversion when they were up by 28 points against the Steelers in week 1) is as unsportsmanlike as it gets. Fuck Flacco and fuck Baltimore and everything that they stand for. Very classless acts that sometimes go unnoticed. (Sorry AR! You're a good guy. 8) )

Well, not that I'm taking up for Jones or the Cowboys, because I have plenty of Redskins hate for the both, but I remember back in the 'skins last Super Bowl year, Jack Kent Cooke called out Mark Rypien in the papers because of Mark's contract hold out. He called Rypien a "bloody idiot". It apparently worked! The Redskins went 14-2, destroyed the Falcons and the Lions in the playoffs and made good work of the Bills in the Super Bowl. Of course, when Mark Rypien stopped being a bloody idiot after that year, his QB play went downhill and eventually got kicked out of Washington.

Hah! Truth! True story --> My brother, who owns a Silk-Screening company, is great friends with Sonny Riccio, hometown QB star ( who now owns his family restaurant in my home town) and his family. Sonny was the QB of Delaware before Flacco transferred and pushed him out of the job and left Pitt. So Flacco is a bastard around these parts and always will be, haha. It's only fitting he went to Baltimore.

Here's Sonny's bio. E.C is my hometown. Pretty cool.

FYI for DirecTV customers in the Boston area. You won't be seeing The Super Bowl in the Boston market. DirecTV did away with the local NBC affiliate more than a week ago because they couldn't come to agreement on broadcast rights. For once, I'm thankful to be a Comcast customer!

Boy, DirecTV and Dish Network have really screwed over their customers in the last year or two. We have Dish Network but will probably be switching back to cable in the next few months.

I know a couple of months ago DirecTV was about to cut FX and some other FOX stations from their lineup due to contract negotiations, but a deal got worked out at the last minute. I'm surprised DirecTV has actually went through with cutting out a big network station such as NBC. I bet there are going to be a lot of roof top antennas purchased between now and Super Bowl Sunday!

For most people, I think a set of 10 dollar rabbit ears should work just fine pulling NBC-HD. And don't spend extra for an antenna that says it is HD either. That's just marketing crap; a TV antenna doesn't care if the signal is HD or not, just as long as its in the UHF/VHF band.

Yep! You're exactly right! I see so many antennas on the market now being advertised as "HD ANTENNAS" when there's actually no such thing has a high definition tv antenna. And your right, depending upon where you live, the indoor rabbit ears works pretty good.

Fuck You're smart. I mean that seriously. You coming with me to see Bruce at the Sports Arena? April 26th, but I am sure he'll add another date or 3.

My prediction, not that anyone gives a shit, Giants win again, 31-21. NE's secondary just won't be able to cover NY's 4 talented receivers, and Eli is a damned good QB. Defense wins championships, and the G-Men have the much better D.

PS- and a BIG FUCK YOU to Tim Thomas for NOT going to the White House to see the President of the United States. Regardless of party, or in his words, "dissatisfaction" you respect the fucking Office.
