Nike re-signs Michael Vick to Endorse

NEW YORK — Michael Vick is back with Nike more than two years after the company severed ties over the quarterback's involvement in a dogfighting ring.

The managing director of the agency that represents Vick announced the deal Wednesday while participating on a panel at the Sports Sponsorship Symposium. Michael Principe of BEST referred questions to Vick's agent, Joel Segal, who did not return calls from The Associated Press.

Segal told SportsBusiness Journal that Vick will wear Nike shoes, gear and apparel, but would not reveal the terms of the agreement

"Mike has had a great relationship with Nike and is excited to be part of the Nike team again," Segal said.

The deal is the latest step forward for Vick as he seeks to rehabilitate his career and his image after serving 18 months in federal prison. On Sunday, Vick played his first regular-season game since December 2006.

Good for him. The man deserves a second chance going by the track record of some of the scumbags who have gotten second, third, and fourth chances in the NFL. He fought dogs, yeah it's offensive and we love dogs in this country, but there are far worse human beings playing in the NFL.

oh wait, Ray Lewis only allegedly stabbed someone.

Don't forget Dante Stallworth's 24 day sentence for DUI manslaughter.

I did not miss Troy at all. I am hoping that the Bengals are such a young team that Cleveland has no memories for them. Chad will be wearing pink to call attention to breast cancer week. He also said he will be matching any NFL fines and giving it to that fund. He WILL NOT be jumping into the puppy zone, formally known as the dog pound. I guess he does not like beer.

Young JRNY- You mentioned Ken Anderson but forgot about our former head coach Dick LeBeau. He would have lost to a womans football team. He was another Mike Brown foul up. The Pittsburgh 70's with Bradshaw and the Steel Curtain were amazing. I think it was L C Greenwood, Dwight White, Mean Joe Green and I forget the other guy. I see the Ravens as that type of team today. The season is young .........

Ernie Holmes, defensive tackle was the 4th man apart of what made up the Steel Curtain. But yes, LeBeau served a couple years in Cinci and was a failure who inherited a bad team from every aspect. LeBeau is many things, one being a deserving Hall of Famer as a player, and as a coach, but Head Coach's, esp that of defensive masterminds, tend to NOT make good Head Coach's. LeBeau was at the wrong place at the right time, and Cincinatti was that wrong place at the right time. Overall picture, LeBeau's best attributes will always be as a coordinator, and not so much as a HC and the statistics have shown this and the amount of impact he has with his players as the Steelers defensive coordinator.

DET @ CHI - Chicago wins this one easily!

SEA @ IND - Indy ROLLS and getting ready to reclaim their position near the top of the AFC!

TEN @ JAC - Two dreadful teams but someone has to win. I like Tennessee in this one by a final score of 3-2

NYG @ KC - G-Men keep rolling

TB @ WAS - Not touching this game but I will predict that if the Redskins blow this game, Snyder will be firing him before the next game!

BAL @ NE - VERY tough game to predict. While on the surface, Baltimore looks like the class of the AFC, if you look a bit deeper, they've defeated Kansas City and Cleveland (two AWFUL teams). Both of those teams rank in the bottom 10 of the NFL in offense. While they also defeated San Diego...their defense didn't look nearly as dominant, giving up almost 450 yards to Rivers. I have ZERO doubt that the Patriots offense is eventually going to click. I'm just not sure this is the week. I'll go out on a limb here and say the Patriots win a low scoring game by about 3 points!

OAK @ HOU - Houston wins.

CIN @ CLE - Cincinatti is due for a letdown, and I think the local Pop Warner team might give the girl scouts a run for their money. I wouldn't be stunned to see Cleveland hang in there and actually pull this one off.

BUF @ MIA - Miami is DONE. They won't win many games this season and won't win this one!

NYJ @ NO - Look for Revis to give Colston a hell of a time catching the ball. The Jets aren't going to win every game, so I like this as one they'll lose. I think Brees has enough other targets even if Revis takes Colston out of the game to still pull this one off.

DAL @ DEN - Denver's defense will finally be put to the test tomorrow, and I don't like their chances. Dallas wins!

STL @ SF - I can't imagine picking the Rams to defeat anyone, and this game won't be any different.

SD @ PIT - ***UPSET SPECIAL*** I don't love the Chargers but think Rivers is a good enough QB to exploit a very average Pittsburgh secondary (without Polamalu). I must also admit that I'd love nothing more than to see Shitsburgh wallowing with a 1-3 record, while all of their dopey fans have probably already had their Super Bowl reservations booked since August!

Mon, Oct 05
GB @ MIN - Favre and the Vikings take this one.

Jamarcus Russell is a FUCKING disaster of a QB! It's a horribly sad commentary on the NFL product that a guy who sucks this bad has even a backup QB role in the NFL, let alone a starting job!

Tell me about it. Right now I'm praying they sign Jeff George to play. When he was with us, the defense was horrendous which was why we finished 4-12. At least when they had George I made a point to never miss an offensive series. I still love watching him throw the ball. Kind of feel the same way about Cutler. He has much the same motion.

DET @ CHI - Bears destroy a team that finally has the monkey off their back. Soldier Field is too much for Detroit and Stafford to handle. Chicago by 13.

SEA @ IND - Peyton Manning, if he needed to prove it anyway, is on a mission to be one of the best OF ALL TIME. Indy by 24.

TEN @ JAC - Tennessee has to get off of the shneid sometime, and both of these teams has been unpredictable the last few years and are nothing but pretenders at this point of the game. Tenn by 10.

NYG @ KC - Giants are the best team in football, and KC is in a 3 way tie for the worst. G-men by 21.

TB @ WAS - Washington comes back after their most embarrassing loss of their franchise and prove that they are a better team than Tampa, which isn't saying much. Washington by 5.

BAL @ NE - Flacco and the Baltimore offense is the highest scoring offense in the AFC, but they have played nobody's, and I think this week New England's offense will put major, major pressure on a Baltimore team that needs to face an opponent worthy of beating them. I'm a HUGE New England "supporter" this week, sadly. I'd be the happiest man on Earth if both teams come down with AIDS and each had to take defeat. There's still hope. New England by 13.

OAK @ HOU - Will the real Houston Texans please stand up. Oakland's defense carries them this week, and Houston struggles because of it. Oakland by 4.

CIN @ CLE - Sadly.. again.. I'm an Cleveland "supporter" this week. Too bad they won't even come CLOSE to sniffing a victory. Hopefully Derek Anderson of '07 shows up but we all know that won't happen. Cinci by 20.

BUF @ MIA - Buffalo has their way with Miami. Henne is not the answer, and Williams and Brown can't run the Wild Cat forever. Buffalo by 8.

NYJ @ NO - Jets have a shot to remain unbeaten and take down one of the better offense's in the league. Games like this are too hard to predict what could unfold when a top defense goes against a top offense. You know what they say, Defense wins championships. Jets by 6.

DAL @ DEN - IMO, two bad teams going at in at Mile High. Dallas is worlds apart from where Denver sits right now, even though they are the worst 3-0 team in a LONG TIME. Dallas by 14.

STL @ SF - San Fran let's out their frustration after last weeks loss of the Vikes after watching that Hail Marry over, and over, and over again. This one is going to be ugly for St. Louis. 9'ers by 17.

SD @ PIT - No way The Chargers come into Pittsburgh, on a Sunday Night and beat the Steelers after the Steelers are coming off of 2 games on the road that they should of won. The Steelers are eager, hungry, and out to prove they are a team to be reckoned with.. in front of the best fans in the universe. Chargers, are the most overrated team in the league & will show it tonight. With that said, I won't be the least surprised if the Steelers drop to 1-3 after beating themselves the last two contests. Not tonight. Steelers by 11.

Mon, Oct 05
GB @ MIN - UPSET: CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE. This will be the most watched Monday Night Football game in ages. Favre VS the Pack. Say what you want about this saga, but you'd be a damn liar if you won't be sitting in front of the TV for this one. This whole thing is like a damn soap opera & I love it. Storyline aside, I think these are two teams that matchup well. This is tough, but I'm saying Green Bay in an upset and man up against an undefeated Vikings team who should have lost last week. Green Bay by 8.

LOOK AT DETROIT RIDING ON CONFIDENCE! 14-7 over Chicago in Chi-Town! Even though it's early, impressive to say the least. Baltimore and New England is an entertaining one to watch thus far.

I think it might be time to get Vince Young on the field. The Titans are AWFUL. Hell, they're getting completely fucking embarrassed by a VERY average Jacksonville team!

This just goes to show the Titans were nothing but overachievers last year, and completely fooled me coming into this season. Hell, I picked them the last 2 weeks, including this week and they lost every contest. Jacksonville is ANNIHILATING them. What the Titans did so well last year was play hard nose defense, and protect Collins. Well, this is what happens when you do NEITHER and it's showing 4 games in the season. I don't care if the Titans win the rest of the way onto the Superbowl, I will NOT back them and pick them from here on out.

New England and Baltimore is going down to the damn wire. New England needs to hold this lead and regain momentum. Both defense's playing well and keeping their respective teams in it. Come on Brady you putz, this isn't the time to lose one now!

Not after watching this team for 30 odd years it ain't.

As good as that last few minutes was today, next week could look like todays first half where the Bengals just didn't show up. When they give me some consistency I'll be happy.

If you think like that, then you have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go. I would bask in this win for sure, but don't set yourself up for a letdown, which is the approach you seem to be taking.

There's a long way to go... that 3rd and inches failure could give us nightmares there...

No matter what win or lose, this should hopefully instill some much needed confidence in the entire team, and especially the offense and all the young guys on the team.

As bad as the Clowns have looked (bad is a term used lightly) I would have thought they would at LEAST lose to the Bungles by a wide margin. But, this is why this is Cleveland Vs Cincinnati, both red headed step childs brawling it out in the barn. I said Cincinnati won their Superbowl last week, and they will go back to being the Bungles, but I didn't expect it to be this early. Lot of game, and the Browns are a team that could blow it as fast as you could say 'boobs', as well as Cinci. This is going to be an interesting finish to who will choke last.

This is a much different Browns team with DA under center... Not to say he's great, but it's clear to me that the entire offensive unit feels a LOT better with DA at the helm. There's palpable confidence/rhythm and dare I say even a little swagger. Massoquai has come into his own today as well. Harrison's running well. I will also be VERY surprised if Jamal Lewis ever returns to starting at RB for us. Even Rob Ryan and Eric Mangini are getting pumped and having fun on the sideline... It's nice to see. These guys just needed something to at least feel decent about.

If they lose, they lose, but I hope it's not off of some kind of boneheaded mistake or something like that to sour the effort.

I will be forever in the red after that "loss" to Cinci last week. They had no business going home with a win. 30 yards since the first Qrt against the BROWNS is something that you could never wrap your head around. Makes me want to puke. I'm glad they won their Super Bowl last week. If the Clowns can hold on, and if New England holds Balty off, then if Pittsburgh wins we are right back in this thing .. JUST LIKE THAT. But I've been watching football long enough to know that it isn't over until the final handshakes are taken at mid field.
