If they can pay Frontiers and only collect $17 at the door for a few hundred people (I'm guessing there was 300) then why can't you charge $60, give them $15 and clear $45 per ticket? That's $45,000 if you sell 1,000 tickets and I think you would. Add to that the fact that they do not have to pay the acts (unles they want to!!!) and I don't see why it can't be HOB. It's got the name, it's a beautiful venue, perfect location and worth travelling to. Why not there, dude?
And having at the HOB would certainly garner you a radio station to promote the show!
Lots od additional expenses....very costly venue.
I honestly think you'll recoup those "additional expenses" with the bit of "prestige" that the name carries. Besides, people that travel want to be near downtown and that place is in a tremendously cool location near everything. I say do it. You won't be sorry. You make that the venue and you'll get your 1,000 people.
1000 people and $12 profit. That was the problem in South Bend. Looks like the venue is coming together and won't be downtown, but will be close to some hotels and restaurants and attractions. And the same distance from the airport...

Aw darn I was hoping it would take place on one of those scenic boat tours on the Chicago River.![]()

No - sorry - and not a known name in USA at all.

No Scrap Metal and only 1 repeat from MRF1. Plenty of bands lined up - the choice os what combination makes it work magically. And still need that killer headliner.
Foreigner, Night Ranger and a few others ruled out.

Maybe instead of trying to get all of these acts to show... just offer Herbie H. a chance to get up on a stage with a bar stool and fill us all in on the entire Journey/Perry story. He could talk for HOURS and be very entertaining. Then he could do a question/answer session that would make EVERYONE'S day!I'd pay good money to hear that.

Call up John Kivel, get Tango Down and Farcry(or head over to HH and speak to Pete Fry personally)....then call up the Danger Danger chaps and book them. If they can piggy back with Kivel and play Chicopee, MA - I'm sure they can play a big metro like Chicago.....
