I said back when I was growing up, I wouldn't. In a perfect world all kids would have a mom and dad who are great people and great parents. Not so much the case. I have friends raised by an alcoholic parent, my friend's son's wife had a father who gambled away their security many times over the years and she is on Antidepressents b/c of her unstable childhood. The list goes on. It's not some Ozzie and Harriet childhood for a lot of people.
