Sorry 7, I have to disagree with you. She isn't better than Mel.... We don't know what actually went on... so don't make her out to be the one that is untouchable in this situation, because she isn't. She could of gave to him as much as he gave her. These tapes were a setup if you will, of an ongoing argument they were having... they are not tapes that were taped at the heat of the moment. She is as much guilty as Mel is because she was pushing his buttons... and she knew this. Some women can be conniving bitches, and make themselves look like they are innocent.

I am not defending Mel either.. He was/is wrong on what he said to her.. and how he said it... He didn't have to react to her button pushing, but he did, and that landed him in the position he is in now.

Wouldn't that be interesting? If the voice on her end was put in after? Just some food for thought that I already thought of but waited to see what came of it. See, that's the thing. No one does know. That is why I choose to sit back, wait, and see what happens. Either way Mel has flipped. Whether it's alcohol, mental issues, or his realization that this woman is out to destroy him, he's lost his temper to a place that was out of control. I think this is what amazes me with this whole thing. He will be judged on words from something she made. Instead of waiting for the DA and police to find proof he hit. She is full of shit. She just wants people to see her as a vicitm so she ran interference and struck first. Totally threw him under the bus. Tapes or not, this is all very very suspect. he allegedly knocked her in the mouth in January and she didn't report it until the 1st week of July. She didn't go the hospital or file a police report when it happened.... come on.

Maybe this behavior is some of WHY he was screaming at her that way and getting THAT level of angry? People can be total assholes when they want people to view the story a certain way and I believe that's what she's up to. I'd be yelling at her too. Something like this happened to my ex in a custody fight. The girl ran around making claims about him - I will not say what they were - but they were WAY WAY out of line and totally made up. Me being his prior very long term relationship, I got asked (ok I got begged) to testify regarding his behavior.

He might have been a lot of not great things, but he was NOT what she was saying he was, no chance in hell. I'd have been happy to have told him to F off, but there was a child involved and I just couldn't in good conscience not speak up.
