'Journyman' has to be the worst Maiden song ever

Nah, that vote goes to Holy Smoke...along with the video clip, which is one of the most amateurish ever produced

Worst Maiden song ever is 'The Assassin'......how they could produce such shite after a metal masterpiece like Seventh Son is beyond me.

My AOTW goes to Nightwish "Century Child". Been playing a lot of Nightwish in anticipation of "Once."

AOTW is DC Cooper - DC Cooper. It's a bit softer compared to his other work. I like it a lot though.

However, song of the week is The Battle Rages On by Deep Purple. Killer guitar riff on that song! Didn't even know this song until last week...

DC Cooper is one of my favorite vocalists.

AOTW: Pagan's Mind - Celestial Entrance
I've opened doors, I've opened minds
I've opened yours a thousand times
As I wait for you

I've fought the battle from the start
I've opened sores inside my heart
It bleeds without remorse

His voice is so versatile. Until I heard this solo album and the Silent Force albums I hadn't realised he also could sound a lot like Rob Halford.

AOW is Death Angel-The Art of Dying.

their last album came out in 1990 and it almost made my album of the 90's list in JB's comp.....this one is not as good but its better than some reviews have been saying.

Sounds just like the Aina packaging. It's great when the record companies don't skimp on this. :D

Tie between Sevendust's new acoustic album (better on DVD though!) and good old Poisonblack. Just love JP's voice!

Poisonblack are great, and yes JP does have a great voice, but I'm really looking forward to the next album with Ville singing. :D

My album of the week is 'Empire' by Queensryche......I've always liked this album, and gave it a spin real loud this week.
'Best I can', 'The Thin Line', 'Jet City Woman', and the title track are exceptional, for me. 'Anybody listening?' always gets my paranoid nature freewheeling as well!
Unfortunately, in my opinion the band went downhill from here.

Still, it was good while it lasted.

No argument from me Kenny! Empire is one of my top 10 albums (this is when I discovered Queensryche, and not because of SL, because of an interview I read!).

Yeah Penny, I'm looking forward to the next Poisonblack too but must admit am a little disappointed Ville is singing himself. I love his work with Sentenced but am concerned it's going to seem even more like a solo project what with him writting most the stuff playing guitars and now singing. Probably just feeling this way cause I'm so passionate about JP's voice. Oh well bring on the next Charon.

I believe that Nuclear Blast will be releasing Once in the states sometime in July.

AOTW comes a day early because I won't be around tomorrow.

AOTW goes to Lana Lane "Garden of the Moon."

my AOW/year is Ayreon-The Human Equation.

Standout performances by Devin Townsend, a guy named Magnus Ekwall (from a band named The Quill) and this Mexican chick who's name is Marcela Bovia....and Irene Jansen is better than her sister.

The rest kick ass too except for a guy named Eric Clayton(Saviour Machine).....and LaBrie still irks me....but not as much as usual.

Its probably one of the best concept albums ever....it might even be better than The Wall

Give it ten years and then make a comparison Tali - you are verging on blasphemy there!!
My AOTW is 'The eyes of Alice Cooper'. Fantastic how this guy keeps evolving, reinventing his music all the time.

I understand the enormity of my statement.....but its a fucking sensational piece of art/music that just keeps getting better with each listen. I just took 2 hours off work just to drive around and listen to it in from beginning to end again. :D

My AOTW is Feinstein - Third Wish. It sounds as one long tribute from David Feinstein to his cousin RJD... Lots of Dio and Black Sabbath inspired (or even copied  ) riffs going on. Also heavily influenced by old Queensryche, Riot and Iron Maiden.

I read in an interview that the original plan was actually to have Dio do the vocals, but he didn't have the time, so John West did them instead. Dougie White (if available) would have been an even better choice IMO.

Outstanding track is the title track, it's epic!

Fuck that does sound serious.....fantastic when a piece of music can do that to you mate.
BTW, PM me with what you sent me - I got 'em today but three of 'em are not labelled or anything. I've identified Book of Shadows, which is fucking awesome.

DC Cooper would've been a good choice as well. That guy's got some lungs!

Yeah, I prefer DC's voice over John West. But in this case I still think Dougie would have been the best man for the job. Dougies voice has a more "vintage" sound to it, which fits this music perfectly.

ATOW for me this week is preveiw cd of the new Dokken. It almost back to old school on first listen. The new guitarist, John Levin, is no George Lynch but shreds very well.
