Great tune... Cleveland's own Eric Carmen! Perfectly fit the film too. DD was not a bad movie at all for me, a chick-flick loathing guy.

This makes me so sad. Patrick has always been, as far as I could tell, one of the really good guys in Hollywood... no drama or scandal, long happy marriage, great actor who just did his job and seemed to stay away from Hollywood b.s. This is a big loss. It's nice that he had the opportunity to make peace with his life and those in it and the chance to, I presume, tell them he loved them and to say goodbye.

Rest well Patrick. You will most definitely be missed.

I always thought that he was the "Gene Kelly" of our Generation:

Very athletic & muscular......but always graceful.

As a Dancer.....this saddens me....

Pancreatic Cancer is pretty much a death sentence. It's a vicious killer.
Most people get 3-6 months to love, tops, when they are diagnosed. Swayze actually lasted longer than that.

Regardless, I loved him in North and South...he really did a fantastic job bringing the character Orry Main to life in John Jakes' books.

Rest In Peace, Swayze. One of the good guys. I've lots of good memories from watching his movies with friends in the 80s.

Prayers for his wife and life partner Lisa.

I was just thinking about him 2 days ago and went and bought Ghost. Even though knowing his time was short I am very saddened to hear of his passing. A man who stood out as admirable for his strength, courage, determination, talent, grace, honesty, devotion and the love he gave. A true gentleman who lived a full life with passion for it and passion for the things he loved. Rest in peace, Patrick. You will live on in many's hearts and memories as well as on film.

He so did to!, I still have that series on VHS tapes....almost named our oldest Orry.
May those that were close to him take comfort from what he added to this world.

Dan Fogelberg, Paul Davis, Dan Seals, Michael Crichton, now Swayze. Not all from cancer but all around the same age bracket.
Mortality FTW I guess.

So true we never know when our time is up.What happened to Dan Fogelberg?I loved his music.

Prostate Cancer. 56 years old

This is how I want to remember him! He was very talented, and also had a great sense of humor. Nobody can watch this video without laughing.  Rest in piece to both of them, and God bless.

Bodhi is in my top 3 villains of all time.
He's actually arguably a hero in Point Break.

Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies of all time. I went to see it 9 times at the theatre. His ability to merge tough guy with sensitive soul is really amazing. Kinda the movie version of Steve Perry's voice...

Yea I think it was made down your way Donna, even though it nailed that whole 60s Catskills feel.

Yep, Mountain Lake Resort near Roanoke. You can go there for 'dirty dancing' weekends, etc.

The prices really aren't that bad for a resort like that. Of course, it just won't be the same unless Johnny is there and I can carry a watermelon...
