OH yea, and he's got a LOT of fan support backing him on that....
I thought replacing him in FVJ was a horrible move made by Yu, a horrible choice of director. Kirzinger moved NOTHING LIKE Hodder, and was just about the same size if not bigger when the reason Yu gave for ditching the guy who perfected the latter incarnation of the character was he wanted a leaner, smaller Jason.

I read somewhere that Haley was toying with the idea of giving Freddy a Scottish accent...could be creepy.

A bad move, yes, but that movie was destined to be epic shit, regardless.
Hodder should be glad he was kicked out of the car before it went down that road.

Robert Englund, we need you!!!

They need to get Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash (and/or Michael Myers?) made like NOW.

I'd even go for a team-up of Freddy and Angela from Night Of The Demons vs. whoever, hopefully Ash. What I really want I guess is another Bruce Campbell-starring Evil Dead film. But yeah, this... this I definitely don't like the looks of. Completely redoing the shot of the claws in the bathtub is especially lame. Michael Bay? Ugh.

Fingers crossed that he actually pulls this off.

Why does EVERYTHING now have to be a "Versus" movie? I loved Freddy Vs Jason, but I don't look at it as a continuity movie to ANY franchise. It's a stand alone movie that gives the fans entrainment of the 2 franchises.

While we're at it, lets just protest so we can get a Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash Vs IT Vs Michael VS Hell Raiser Vs Leprechaun Vs Leather Face Vs Mike Tyson movie, that'll fix these characters. I loved FVJ but these Versus movies are ridiculous and FVJ II was canned years ago.

Point is, re-makes are just that, re-makes. These directors and producers, along with the rest of the world, know that these movies won't be able to hold a CANDLE to the originals, no matter how far advanced technology is today. In fact, givin today's technology, I think it ruins horror flicks. I always like the 80's horrors because of the bad sound, the bad quality, and the dull picture. It made it more creepier in my eyes. Now everything is enhanced and it takes away from the mystery and suspense IMO. It's not about ruinin' anything. I think Hollywood knows they can't recreate what they gave us in the 80's but they know they need characters like Freddy, Jason, and Michael in today's "horror" community.

I stand corrected. What we REALLY need now is a new 80's horror movie. Someone really needs to emulate the style perfectly and make one. And if they were to do another remake, I definitely say they should do Silent Night, Deadly Night 2, especially this scene:

Yeah, definitely would love to see Bay take a stab at that, enhanced effects and all. Wouldn't be good or hold a candle to that original scene by any means, but dammit the utter seriousness and credibility he would try to instill in it would be AMAZINGLY funny, in that awful-movie sorta way.

As a bonus, I'll throw in this clip from the equally awful Troll 2:

I saw the trailer. Vote is still out. While there were some elements that looked intriguing, I couldn't get over the "Voldemort"-ish appearance of Freddy. My first reaction was... uh..not scary. wtf? Original Freddy was my biggest nightmare, and that film still goes down in my book as the scariest damn horror film ever. I can still remember watching it with a pillow covering my eyes 90% of the time.

This one? Meh.... not impressed yet.

Word is that both the make-up and the voice are trying to be more realistic as to how a severely burned victim might look and sound. THe trailer is still not accurate as it is said Earle is still working on the voice and there will be a small CGI component to the make-up.

Aaron Eckhart's Two-Face is how a severely burned person is supposed to look...
