What is REALLY sad about the Craig Price Case...you know the freak that grew up near me?

Is that the law at the time was that he was to be incarcerated in Juvenile hall til he was 21(he was tried as a minor)....and there was such an uproar when he was 19 1/2, that 'they'...and you can guess who they were....trumped up new charges to keep him in. I'm not advocating what he did, but the law is the law. You want to keep freaks like this is prison? Change the fucking law. Don't instigate the guy as to make sure he gets years added on. Also, I'm damn sure if you just let him out....he will be taken care of. And Joe and Jane taxpayer would be off the hook. He'd have a nice posse waitin' for his ass upon release. Sometimes the state is so fucking stoopid.

Sort of reminds me of Charles Ng and Leonard Lake. My ex-sister in-law met them and was supposed to meet up with them for a photoshoot later on in the evening. She changed her mind to go at the last minute and never went. Lucky for her. So there are crazy nutjobs all around us. That's why I'm very cautious and aware of my surroundings at all times. I'm lucky because I prefer to sleep with at least one firearm close by. Lucky because my wife likes guns and approves of having them. I was reading the Richard Ramirez articles a little bit ago and I got to think some of those murders could have been prevented if any of the victims would have had a loaded firearm near their bed while they were sleeping. In some of those cases, Ramirez had broke into the house waking up the victims before even finding them in the house. Had he broken into my house, I'd a unleashed at least three pumps of the 12 gauge into him before he even knew what happened. Plus think of all the tax money that would have saved in court and prison cost.

A couple of months back the FBI named Over the Rhine in Cincinnati the most dangerous place in the COUNTRY ! It starts at about 12th street & goes north up to pill hill where most of the hospitals were located. Most hospitals moved to the suburbs about 30 yrs ago. Just south of Over the Rhine are million $ condos. So now as buildings go the crime has gone to Price Hill and even Butler & Warren counties. I wish they would hand the dunce mayor a national achievement award. He wanted to cut 130 police while the police were completely overwhelmed. So ,the Hamilton County Sheriff and his ex Marine officers went through the city and helped out the City of Cincinnati Police. They should do it permanently.

Not skewed. The biggest cities are probably not on there because of population. My logic is, if you have a 500 murders in 1 year in both Los Angeles and Nashville, the rate will be higher in Nasville because there are less people even though it's the same number of crimes.

If that isn't the reason then I dunno. But all those cities listed are smaller in population than LA, NY or Chi and a few of them have very large lower glass groups (there just is no right way to say that without sounding like a d-bag  ), which is generally where the crime rate is higher.

I saw Forbes list yesterday, as Seattle was tied for 4th place as one of the safest. Good metro lines keep drunks off the roads.

Just on the bus with me.... joys.

Out of these cities, I have been to em all now after being in Philly last week. My assessment?

Yes to:

Detroit- sick dirty toilet
Memphis- yes
Miami- drug infested
Stockton- awful town
Charleston- They mean North Charleston not Charleston proper
Baltimore- compare it to Bosnia
Nawlins- drunk crime
Baton Rouge- shithole
W Palm Beach- Toilet

No to:

Vegas- awesome place
Orlando- Disney
Charlotte- one of the "best towns to live in"
Philadelphia- AMAZING PLACE. I would move there tomorrow if I could

The worst town on this list to me?

Stockton, CA. Put it this way. The railroaders travel through here locked and loaded.

IMHO- the reason LA, NY, CHI and HOU are not on here is probably this is a poll of per capita crime, not overall crime.

Disney and The Vegas strip are just small parts of those cities though. Dinsey is basically a city of it's own. I can't speak for Orlando becuase the only part I've seen was Disney. But Las Vegas apart from the glitz and glamour on the Strip, was not friendly looking at all. I stayed with some family friends once who lived in a residential area of Vegas not far from Nellis AFB... YUCK!

That's true, I used to have an investment property in this Northeast area of LV, corner of Nellis and Lake Mead, luckily I sold it last year despite of depreciating value. But this area is one of the worst in Vegas. Prostitution is rampant and a lot of graffitis. The only good thing about this investment property is easy to find a renter. Because it's so close to Nellis AFB and most renters are militaries and they're good renters.

Well, the mayor of orlando is a democrat named Buddy, but I can't say much about that name when we did have a republican governor for a while named Jeb  The mayor of Orange County, which is the county Orlando resides in, is however a Republican. It seems like a mix here. Goes both ways depending on who's running.

If it makes you feel any better, I hate Charlotte also. Reminds me of a wanna-be Atlanta. Only positive thing I can think of about the town is that it's the best place in NC to get rock concerts as the crowd there always goes nuts (unlike Raleigh or Greensboro).

Personally, I'm surprised Durham, NC wasn't on that list. Durham's got more than it's fair share of problems and a bunch of places that you just don't want to be. They demolished the mall there about 10 years ago because it got to be a gang hangout, and everybody was avoiding it like the plague.

Why the hell would Charlotte "want" to be like Atlanta? Talk about the most worthless and fucked up city in this country! :x The roads and interstates there are ALWAYS under construction (must be a damn government job!), the city's too damn crowded, and it's not a pretty city in ANY way, shape or form!

Good point. I wondered the same thing. Something is skewed.

 That makes it skewed in my opinion. I happen to know many people who moved to NC. They love it there. Isn't it true that any city has it's bad sections? Well, with a few exceptions, but you get my point.

The only nice place I like in Baltimore is the Baltimore Inner Harbor. But if you drive around few miles from here towards Orioles Camden Yards and University of Maryland area, the place is ghetto.

That part of Baltimore is absolutely beautiful. I loved that, I almost went to college there.

Oh, Florida. I don't think I've ever heard anything good about that state.

I'm surprised Stockton is in the top 10.
