i'm at work and can't view the clip, but that isn't what i wanted to comment on anyway.

i'm just shaking my head at the lack of recognition for patti smith's contributions to the music world. love her or hate her, she is a pioneer in her own right. this is the same group who think the clash or ramones suck :roll:

Easy Tiger. Sure she has made inroads and such in the punk scene but do you really think she belongs in the RnR HOF? If not for the BS song, I have to wonder if she would have made it.

Smith's "Because The Night" is a vivid memory of the 70's. Late Saturday nights watching Don Kirshner's rock concert and I saw her do the track.

I'm a Merchant fan but Smith's is the definitive cut. The covers thread should be replete with The Boss's songs. Mannfred Mann, The Mavericks, Pointer Sisters, Smith and I'm probably forgetting a couple.
