I've got 500 exactly.

I've met, known, or talked to every single one of them. A few I only know from online forums or whatever, but I'd say a good 98% I personally know.

I'd wager that 4 out of every 5 people between 18 and 25 have a Facebook.. so I don't feel weird about having so many friends, it's just what my generation does.

I think the word friend needs to be redefined.

That may be a good idea. Having 500 "Associates" or 500 "Connections" or something would be more appropriate, as there's a much smaller number on my list that I would actually consider "Friends."

You can hide all of that. Say, if you don't want to see Mafia Wars... go to the right of any Mafia Wars post and hover the mouse... the "hide" button comes up - click and it will give you an option to "Hide Mafia Wars" - you will never see another post for the app(s) you hide after that. And it's a pain in the ass to unhide stuff, so there's not much chance you'll ever run across another post from the apps you hide... LOL!

Ah! I can do that. That's cool.

Or you can just go to "Block application" on the bottom left under the message so your profile will block "Mafia Wars" from entering your profile. That's what I did.

this is what I did. That stuff drives me nuts.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I think I have about 30-40now on my so called friends list... but in reality how are they really friends when you only *visit* with them over facebook writings???
I have had about 18-20 so called friends add me from my HS class of 1980 in the last few months due to reunion coming up... and that has been interesting... to say the least
I dont remember having this big a circle of friends back then... but then most of these guys and ladies have moved from town...and then you lose track of them after so many years..... so re connecting is cool...

Yep, small world. My first (serious) boyfriend from when I was 16 or so looked me up on facebook.  Freaky how somebody from almost 30 years ago can remember your parents and siblings names still. :o Was cool to catch up. My sis thinks it's hilarious that my ex husband and the boyfriend he stole me from are both on my facebook. They couldn't stand each other, but oh well......I still get along with both.

I think I've got about 85 or so, and I'm with you Gbot, if I don't know somebody or at least communicated with for a while on a board like MR, I don't add them. I'm not one of those on facebook just trying to rack up #s. It's a great way to keep in touch with lots of my friends that live across Canada and the US..........and some old school friends. LOL, that's when I even remember to log in.........weeks can go by sometimes.

I've got 379. I joined Facebook back when it was new and "college only" so a lot of my "friends" are dorm floor-mates and high school peers.

I have about 350, which fall into three groups of probably about equal size. Personal friends and family, musicians and photographers (most of whom I've either worked with or are possible future clients), and fans of the musicians who befriend me by association (although many of whom I've met at gigs or corresponded with anyway).

I always check out friend requests, especially if I don't recognise their name, before accepting. If we have mutual friends or they are genuinely involved in the music or photography business I always accept. If they don't seem genuine I just ignore them and eventually they disappear. I feel guilty about actually declining anyone.

About 90% of these were friend requests to me, as I rarely go looking for friends.

I have 209. They are all people I actually know. Most are from HS and people I have met in Journey land. Along with some family and 'real' friends.

Heh, heh... My husband isn't on Facebook, but 4 of my old flames are on my page. It's interesting to see who has held up over the years and who hasn't.

I have 186. I have a couple people from "Journey land", some family and a couple of local friends. The majority are from highschool(s) and middle school though.

I love FB it's great to be able to catch up with people I grew up with, it's like a school reunion without all the BS that comes with it. 8)

Lucked into befriending SA recently (figured out a number of MR stand-outs off his friend list ). Just thought it was swell that, SOP notwithstanding, I was promptly added...& further treated to a welcome PM :D.
