Is it Sweden or Denmark that is supposed to be the happiest country? Of course, one person said, in reply to the article, that it might have been b/c her fellow countrymen were probably drunk when they answered the questionnaire or interview, whatever it was.

Denmark. Actually,it's most content.

Denmark probably got the worst language ever, and their women are pretty damn fugly.

Norway is miles ahead of both Sweden and Denmark.

Hello there, balls-for-brain!

Do you really wanna start this with me, man? I might not live in Norway anymore, but I sure as hell can take you down on this (too).

Fact number one: Norway fought the Nazi's - Sweden said tjena grabben and embraced the Nazi's. You fucktards even gave the Nazi's full use of your railroads to make it that much easier for them to conquer Norway!

Fact number two: While Sweden is buried in depth, Norway got so much money it's funny. Norway is the worlds richest country.

Fact number three: The Norwegians can understand both Danish and Swedish, but you people can barely understand Norwegian, thus --> You're stupid.

Fact number four: Sweden has become a growing banana republic, with the highest rate of violent crime in all of Europe.

Fact number five: Sweden isn't patriotic for shit. People in Sweden celebrates their National day with a damn hot dog and maybe some extra lingonberries on their dinner.

Fact number six: Sweden is basically just a poor version of France. Don't believe me? Read up on your history!

Fact number seven: Falukorv and surstroemming.

Fact number eight: You're a bunch of retards.

Norway is great. I spent last a few weeks last summer there.

& I agree with Parfait, its much better off economically that Sweden. THey have shitloads of cash from oil.

I tend to make fun of Norweigans as being ass backward and ignorant, but mostly that is because I grew up in Minnesota where everyone makes fun of Norweigans. They are in fact extremely smart. I came across this kid, selling rasperries in some small town outside of Bergen, must have been five years old. I went to buy some, I thought Id have to point to the berries as the kid would be too young to know English. The kid was more fluent in it than I was.

The women there are nice looking too. The only thing that sucks there is the price of beer. I remember paying the equivalent of 12 dollars for a pint of beer. Sheesh,

Don't get me wrong... I'm all for having a fair health insurance system where people are not unfairly bankrupted due to losing their health insurance when they get laid off and from out-of-control health care costs. I just fail to see how we can finance it.

No but seriously , this is the first step towards something that will benefit the middle class. The system needs fixed and you have to be openminded and be willing to take chances if you want to have a chance to fix what's been broken for decades.

it is a sad day and I cant wait for the same people who love this plan NOW, then BITCH about it when it isnt free like they thought it was...

Yeah, it can get pretty pricey. A good car costs at least 80 000 $ and a day's worth of food can quickly get up to 70-80 $. But I ain't saying that Norway don't got their fair share of retards, cause they do. Norway is filled with whining socialists. Like in France; there's a huge difference between rich and poor too. Oslo, Norway's capitol, is divided into a eastern (poor) and western (wealthy) part.

But hey, it's still a lot better than Sweden.

Norway is one of the worlds biggest oil exports in the world, and has pioneered oil refining and technology. Norway also is one of the worlds biggest steel exporters, as well as salmon (which alone is worth billions of dollars).

Norway give far more money to development countries and human aid than Sweden. Norway is also one of Europe's biggest exporters of weapons and ammunition, as well as lumber.

Guess what; you wouldn't be able to do drive your car if it wasn't for Norway! No oil, no car.

Dude, you're kinda stupid, but I still like you - but you got to stop pulling this kind of shit outta your Swedish ass!

Fact Finder wrote:#9. Tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage

Description: A 2.5% income tax on individuals who do not have health care coverage, limited to a cost less than the average national health care premium.

Stellar. The coverage offered through my job is too expensive. So, on top of not having the money to pay for health care, I now have to PAY for the fact that I CANNOT PAY for insurance?

My problem is... I don't make enough to be able to afford the premiums with the plan my company offers (which means obtaining it privately will be about as costly), and I make to much to qualify for the women's healthcare program run by the state (and before anyone says it, fuck off - when you have NO insurance and a state program might be a really big help for awhile, yeah I would do it and no i don't care who else is paying for it - as it stands, *I* am paying for it and can't use it).

granted, I might be missing some facts here as I don't know exactly WHO the whole reform thing covers. I'm not totally clear on that part. But knowing the way these programs work, it isn't going to be me because I don't have a bunch of kids and I probably make too much by one to two thousand annually to be able to qualify. So take my one to two thousand too much and give it to a bunch of people who who are too irresponsible to DO what I do and spend 5.00 on a box of condoms and make sure their kids stay healthy. great. and no, I don't particularly care how bad that sounds. i've had to go without coverage for too long now to care about that.

This is a lose/lose for everyone it seems. The rich lose because they're being taxed for the fact that they can afford it and the poor lose because they're being taxed for the insurance they can't afford. Great. Why don't they let me keep my 2.5% so I can maybe GET SOME INSURANCE. But no. Take my 2.5%, let other people get insurance and tell me I make too much to qualify ... by the way - according to my numbers, I make just about 2-3% too much too qualify, at least in IL.

Meanwhile I have a friend with a husband and two kids who benefits from the state women / children program (which is how she was able to HAVE two kids). So having lower income, all kinds of free care from the state, and the huge tax return she gets for having two kids, she makes more than I do. She was able to buy a car after her tax return this year. I will be having no such luck.

I suppose I am one of the few people who will not mind paying for insurance so others can have it. Surely I don't agree if someone is broke and they can afford a new car and I can't or won't but having a child die because they can't afford the thousands of dollars to keep them alive is not a choice I want to have to think about. People are born and people die. Sometime a person doesn't invest an a condom sometimes there is a rape and sometimes there are other excuses why a child is born into the world. I don't begrudge a family for having children nor do I want to pay the insurance of someone who could and should have done better like I did. But if I can help; why not? (I mean how many designer bags do I need to buy?)

What the hell am I supposed to do? Do I go to the front of the line because I have a big income and you don't? Do I give you a sad face cause your child is dying and you can't afford to buy insurance cause you bought a car? Am I sad cause your mother is ill and she can't afford radiation or the drugs to make her feel better or if she has to chose to buy you a new pair of jeans or get her medication? Or, do I turn away when I walk pass a child who can't afford prosthesis for an amputation? Or, is dying cause he can't afford diabetic drugs? There are a lot of questions and not too many answers.

Sure, I'd like not to pay but I have a hard time looking at kids and older people already living below the poverty line and trying to find the money to pay for medication to stay alive while I whiz by in my old but reliable car but go to the head of the line where I can buy pretty much whatever I want. I don't think it's hard by passing the ghettos or the poorer sections of town, or turning my head when I see a homeless child or adult when I walk down a street or giving money to a charity. Oh, no I don't mind. Keep them in their side of town where they die and I don't have to see them. Or let them live with a little bit of dignity with a little bit of my money and a great deal of peace of mind. I chose the later and I can keep my reliable car for another 50,000 miles or more. I really don't mind at all.

your last paragraph says it all... the only winners will be the govt and these types of families... who will be the reasons in the long run that the program will NOT BE A COST SAVER...THE TAKERS will be the winners... the givers will be the losers... by that I mean... families and individuals WHO ALREADY TAKE from the government will be more dependent on govt than they already are... and
the losers here are the ones who will have to pay for these types of families... and who will pay for these types of families...
the class that earns just above the takers and everyone else above us.

There is a difference in just having the oil in your country (the sea in your case) and just mass export it, rather than how it benefits your country in other departments.

•United Arab Emirates (2.33)
•Kuwait (2.20)

No matter which way you look at it , the Swedes have provided the world with more known name brand products.

But if it makes you feel better to say youre better than Swedes then I totally understand,,,, it wont bother me none,,,, both countries are shitholes when you talk about the PEOPLE and their attitude

The point I was making in this thread is that the healthcare system in Sweden is fully functional and the people totally benefit from the system.

Looks like you're stuck right in the middle. Would maybe taking a 3% pay cut so you fall right under the radar work? That would suck though.

Denmark. Actually,it's most content.

Denmark probably got the worst language ever, and their women are pretty damn fugly.

Norway is miles ahead of both Sweden and Denmark.

Good one

Norway to Scandinavia is like how Poland is to US

So basically everytime you type some bullcrap and end it with FACT , makes it a fact !???

First and foremost , show me where the fuck you get your fucked up stats that Sweden has the highest rate of the violent crime in all of Europe. I have a feeling your dumbass was holding the fucking list upside down. Which is not unusual for a norrman gutte

Secondly, the only thing Norway has ever produced or exported to remotely be proud of is A-ha ! FACT!!!
When it comes to the medical field and technology, Sweden is FAR ahead . With Ericson & Volvo, you have name brands that people recognize.... FACT

A country like Norway isnt in any debt, cause they dont contribute to the world. Its easy to stay out of the debt, if you settle for quiet evenings at the fjord and instead of a cellular tower, use smoke signals to call Unkel Lars , then yeah youre in for a treat . ;)

You have every right to try to defend Norway my friend, but the reality is that of all the countries in Scandinavia, Norway is behind when it comes to technology and being involved the in the world stock market.

They do have the nicest mountains and forests , thats for sure,,, and nice looking women too, but so does Sweden ;)

Are you kidding me, man? Hoer her naa, din dumme faen:

http://dev.prenhall.com/divisions/hss/worldreference/SE/crime.html (Crime rate)

It's the first step. Sticking your head in the sand and hope that things will change WITHOUT any actual changes being made is what makes you the idiot. Of course it's easy for you to say Nay , without having any suggestions to improve the system.
I have seen the success of "healthcare for everyone " plan and think we are on the right tracks.

You are seriously confusing "motion" with "progress".

Scary.

I don't either - participating, the same as all others in this country, is not my problem with it.
My problem is participating to help others, yet I won't qualify.

And if I'm mistaken on that, them by all means, anyone who knows more about it is welcome to educate me on what I'm missing. I read all of the points about what percentages are being taken and from whom. The part I don't know is who it will benefit and how. Is it only low income families? It is anyone who can't afford coverage and exactly who decides where I fall?

And yes, I've attempted to look it up - but all I ever seem to find is a bunch of percentages of who will pay what, not who can USE it.

I dont mind the idea of paying for health insurance for people who cant legitmately afford it. However, government attempts to create inequality dont work.
If you look at the National Heath insurance in Britain , you have parts of the country where there are good hospitals, short waiting lists. You also have parts of the country where there are dirty hospitals, long waiting lists, rationed care, and horror stories. Interestingly, the best NHS hospitals are in the most affluent areas, partly because the middle and upper class folks also have private health insurance can turn to private hospitals. And no one has access to some of the cutting edge experiemental drugs.

It wont work in the same way that LBJs attempt to create equality by throwing great amount of money at the lower classes (the Great Society) gutted every inner city in the US and created and underclass.
