Yeah, it can get pretty pricey. A good car costs at least 80 000 $ and a day's worth of food can quickly get up to 70-80 $. Stellar. The coverage offered through my job is too expensive. So, on top of not having the money to pay for health care, I now have to PAY for the fact that I CANNOT PAY for insurance?

My problem is... I don't make enough to be able to afford the premiums with the plan my company offers (which means obtaining it privately will be about as costly), and I make to much to qualify for the women's healthcare program run by the state (and before anyone says it, fuck off - when you have NO insurance and a state program might be a really big help for awhile, yeah I would do it and no i don't care who else is paying for it - as it stands, *I* am paying for it and can't use it).

But knowing the way these programs work, it isn't going to be me because I don't have a bunch of kids and I probably make too much by one to two thousand annually to be able to qualify. I suppose I am one of the few people who will not mind paying for insurance so others can have it. Surely I don't agree if someone is broke and they can afford a new car and I can't or won't but having a child die because they can't afford the thousands of dollars to keep them alive is not a choice I want to have to think about. People are born and people die. Sometime a person doesn't invest an a condom sometimes there is a rape and sometimes there are other excuses why a child is born into the world. I don't begrudge a family for having children nor do I want to pay the insurance of someone who could and should have done better like I did. But if I can help; why not? Sure, I'd like not to pay but I have a hard time looking at kids and older people already living below the poverty line and trying to find the money to pay for medication to stay alive while I whiz by in my old but reliable car but go to the head of the line where I can buy pretty much whatever I want. I don't think it's hard by passing the ghettos or the poorer sections of town, or turning my head when I see a homeless child or adult when I walk down a street or giving money to a charity. Oh, no I don't mind. Keep them in their side of town where they die and I don't have to see them.
