That's just being lazy though. It's not that hard to learn a new language. Just takes some dedication and effort. And you're way off on the translation, M. I'll give you a rough crash course sooner or later. Je pige que t'es canon.

Its not being lazy. We just have no use for the languages. Who exactly would I speak it to?
Maybe if my great grandparents were still alive. I learned a few phrases here and there when I was little when they were alive. But my grandparents never learned to be fluent, my parents learned none, so I won't either. It's different if you are traveling to all those places and you will need it. I won't be going to Italy or Poland any time soon.
