Halloween...WTF?

It's sad to me too. I hate when tradition changes. My daughter was a SWAT person. My husband is a cop, so I guess it appealed to her. The guns they sell now are bright orange. Wouldn't want someone to think my 11 year old is packing real heat she could get shot I think things have gotten just too protective for our kids to an unhealthy degree. They will grow up with no coping skills afraid of everything the way things are. God forbid some catastrophic event happens and we have to rely on these neighbors we're all so afraid of. I blame the media. They instill sensationalized fear on us daily about everything we would never imagine. Make an isolated event look like it's an epidemic. It's sickening to me.

We had a decent amount of trick-or-treaters like each year. I gave out handfuls too, but still had some left over

wrap your arms around little scared children, huggies ... I'm thinking awwwww!! ...but, nevermind!!

That's what I thought too and then I got a little worried since he mentioned that he decorated with his balls out...no wonder people won't let their kids go trick or treating anymore!!!

Where we live they don't even let the kid trick or treat at night anymore. This year they went out Saturday afternoon. Spoil sports! They sucked all the fun out of Halloween.

We did Saturday evening trunk or treating too. In this area it's not so much that people are afraid, it's just that it's so cold that kids have to wear coats over their costumes anyway. We do it at 6 in the evening, we are done by 6 or 7 and the kids can then go to parties and such and stay warm the rest of the night. I personally like it.
