Well, I'm from Erie, PA, which is as far north as you can go before Canada, and it stays light there until about 10 in the summers! The far NE must be different!

Interesting that it's that different in PA. I've lived in the Boston area for all but 13 months of my life and it's definitely never been light out until anywhere near 10 at night. You guys must have something funky going on in the skies of PA. Incidentally, I assume that your statement of "as far north as you can go before Canada" is only referring to PA, correct? I can think of many places (including all of New England) that are further north than the northernmost point of PA.

Yes!! In PA! I know the states in the NE go much further north. I'm not a geography expert, but I do know that!

That's certainly no different than here in the summer. During the summer, it's definitely light out until 8 or a bit after. As for the winter, I believe our earliest sunset in Boston is the second week of December and I believe the sun sets at about 4:10 in the afternoon.

Summer here in Tasmania, light until about 9.00-9.30pm.. And sun up at 4.30-5.

Winter is dark by 5pm...5.15....

Dude, have you ever heard of an atlas? It's a pretty useful book. They have these outlines in it, and you can actually correlate where on the map you actually live! I know, it's amazing!

I used to live in Spokane, WA, and it stayed light until 10-1030P in the Summer. When I was in Vancouver, it was even later. Last time I checked, Spokane and Erie are at about the same latitude. I am awarding this judgement to Lynn. She is right.

Now Holly, was it really necessary to use a profanity in your post? Completely unnecessary.

Same thing here in Cleveland... during the height of summer, darkness doesn't come until 9:30-10:00

Since I have missed so much work, my insurance lapsed, so I can't get percocets...so I drink like a thirsty fish. I throw down about 6 Excedrin PM's and drink a twelver of Natty Ice and I'm good.

I was thinking he should carry the phone number of the closest liver transplant center with him. That combo you described is toxic!
