The only place I've been in Russia is Krasnoyarsk, Siberia (back when the USSR was crumbling). I did not enjoy it at all.

That's cause you were in Siberia. You have to have some balls to go there in the first place. Just the mere mention of the word I feel like I'm heading to a distant planet, lifeless & cold.....Brrrrrrrrrr.

I've been to Estonia and Finland, both of which are pretty far north. However, I'm sure they don't compare to Siberia.

We had a mission there to monitor INF treaty compliance. It felt like a scene out of Firefox, with big barren fields of ice and a lone soldier out there with his rifle and black mink hat with the red star emblem.
The hotel we were at was one of the better ones because the apples still had a little red on them and the showers were warm instead of cold.

That's definitely a far cry from Saint Petersburg. This place is fantastic. Reminds me of Toronto in some ways but nicer.
