Wait times. Seen those Apple store lines. LOL
My phone contract is up and Verizon is giving me an extra $50 off on my next phone.

Just pre-order it online and then go pick it up at your local Verizon store when it comes in. It probably won't be more than a 2-4 week wait ... if that.
Don't forget the 10 hours it took some of us to get through on the apple site to pre-order the 4!Behshad wrote:Saint John wrote:AR wrote:Behshad wrote:AR wrote:How ridiculous will it be to get an iPhone 5 once it goes on sale?

Order directly from apple.com and they will deliver it to your house (or office ) before noon on release date.

1)Iphones have an internal battery (like Ipods) so Apple has to service the device if you have an issue (unlike everything else, where the battery just pops out.
2)You can't expand the memory like everything else (no SD Cards).
3)Can't speak about Verizon, but with ATT, you only have 15 days for in store exchange with an Iphone vs. 30 days for everything else.
The only clear advantage that the Iphone has is the total number of apps available.
Im willing to bet that there's more than just apps that makes iPhone so popular. How about the best customer service. If you have any problems with any Apple products you simply take it to an Apple store and more often than not, they will replaces it there right on the spot, no questions asked . They dont even ask for a reciept!
Other minor things that keep iPhone owners happy are of course the simple clutter free interface. Easy to use, even Saint John can use it. Great camera combined with FaceTime.

I wouldn't say they have the "best" customer service- I own a ATT authorized retail store, and if you buy an iphone from me and it's over 15 days old, you have to go to apple to get warranty- sounds great right? In my case, the closest apple store is 40 miles away; so have fun driving... you buy any other phone, and as long as it's under 30 days old, I replace it out of stock; after that att handles warranty. The Iphone IS a great device, but there are other viable options at at lower price.

Any bets on the veracity? Sprint supposedly just bought 35 million iPhone 5s.

The phones were bought over a multi-year span. That said, I don't any scenario where Apple alienates Verizon and AT&T during their busiest quarter.

Well you will get half of the fun anyway with the iOS5![]()
Upgrading your iPhone 4 to iOS 5 software will bring you lots of neat features that will keep you busy till iPhone 6 comes out
My guess it they will announce iPhone 5 and iPhone 4GS for a release date of Oct 21st!
Thinking about switching from droid to iphone. Our contract runs out Oct. 13th. Wonder what the price difference will be between the 4 and 5?
Droid is a cheap knockoff. My girlfriend had one and, after using my iPhone4, switched within a week. I'm guessing the iPhone5 will be the usual $199 with a 2 year contract. Well worth it.

I just went into Verizon and browsed. The Droid Bionic is a beautiful phone. Love the larger screen. The iphone 4 looks pretty similar to my old droid eris. I really want an iphone though so I can import music and movies from my itunes. Instead of getting tied up for 2 years in the Bionic which can't do those things. I may just wait and hope Apple releases a larger phone like the Bionic. (fingers crossed this happens soon)

I'm confused.... the 16GB is $199 for the 4? That's what I paid for my 4 over a year ago... is that because I traded up from my 3G phone? What was a discount then is the price now?
Yes, but I have an iPhone 4 16GB...and it was $199 when I purchased it... I didn't know they had an 8GB then, I thought it was 16 or 32. Am I just confused? Why are the 16GB 4 and 4s both $199?Behshad wrote:StevePerryHair wrote:Behshad wrote:16 months and only an updated iPhone 4 ? Very disappointing! Ok... so basically over a year ago, I bought a 16GB iPhone 4 for $199... and now they are discontinuing it... but oh, you can by a freaking 8GB for $199? The same price??? That is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. I'm sorry, but an 8GB 4 is useless to me. I have actually filled my 16 GB with pictures and video, when I have gotten lazy and not transferred them onto my computer. I feel I could never put all of my music on it, because it will use up the rest of my space. As of today right now, I only have 4GB of room on this phone!! And I took 500 pictures off last night, so I can use my phone camera on an upcoming trip! That is NO deal.
I wonder if the 16GB will be cheaper as they get rid of what's left? Or if it will still just be the $199 also. Or maybe they are sold out already? This was not a very exciting announcement today for sure.

If Apple doesn't shit out a bigger phone in the next week, these guys are going to take major damage points.

That's not because of Apples poor customer service. That's due to AT&T and it's poor customer service.
No need to drive to Apple store. They do it as smoothly over the phone.
As far as lower price , you get what you pay for
