The only flipping amazing, gotta see it in 3-D movie I have is Avatar. I just bought Thor in 3-D, and honestly, the regular Blu-Ray version seemed better to me.

I am excited that more movies are coming out in 3-D though, and don't get me wrong... I DO own other 3_D movies. Nothing has really blown me away yet though other than Avatar. I cannot WAIT for the sequels!!!

3D was goofy in 1981 (with the blue and red glasses) and it's every bit as goofy in 2011. I can honestly say that I didn't purchase my TV for the 3D capability, because it's not a function that I'll ever use. That said, my objective was to get the TV that gave me what I perceived to be the absolute best picture. On another note, the price you paid for that TV seems really high. I paid $4100.00 for the 65 inch Panasonic VT30 (which is their flagship model). Seems odd that you only paid $400.00 less for a screen that's 11 inches smaller.
When we bought ours, it was when they first really came out. They ARE much cheaper now.

When I bought it though, it was a package deal with a 3-D Blu-Ray player, a copy of Avatar, and 3 sets of glasses. If you bought the movie with 2 sets of glasses separately, it was $400!

Funny story about that... when we bought the tv, I wanted more than just 3 sets of glasses. If anyone else came over, we wouldn't be able to watch 3-D movies. I ended up buying the $400 set. We already had Avatar because it came with the tv, so I sold just the movie by itself on Ebay. I sold it for $240!!!
At the time I sold it, the only way you could buy it was in a combo with the two Panasonic glasses. The movie was a Panasonic exclusive. I couldn't BELIEVE the movie sold for that, and it basically meant I spent $180 for two pairs of glasses. Believe it or not, that's actually cheap. If you buy the glasses separately, they're $150 each!
