Can I just add something please.

I'm not looking for advice on what went wrong at MRF1 or 2. NOTHING went wrong.... Not enough people came. Simple.

There are things that could be done to improve that situation perhaps, but the reason for this post was for one thing only - to see if anyone with connections had any interest in being a sponsor or helping look for one.

I think Milwaukee would be a better location, close to Chicago and more reasonable for lodging and food.

Not sure how many people on here like Firehouse, but CJ lives right in the area same with one of the members of Whitesnake (I think)

Steve Augeri's been here 3 times in the past few months and has a good following here same with John Waite.

Kevin Chalfant & Dennis DeYoung live a few hours away so traveling wouldn't be that bad for them.

In addition to the bands mentioned in other posts, I'd like to add Rik Emmett too

If it's in Milwaukee, I can help with interviews on tv, radio and local newspapers.

Well its true, we have nothing here in Ohio. If Andrew wants to have MRF III in Ohio, I would just have him do it in my backyard and everyone brings their tents and sleeping back,, and we just grill and have a dozen of kegs. well 2 dozens of kegs if Sain John & Ed are coming over.

You have 46000 members here, not all active of course. do a LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION FEE of $10
Even if 10% of us pay you this, you will end up with $46000 which is more than you had before or after any of the two previous MRFs

Can't do lifetime--then there would be no 2013, 2014, 2015.

10% of any group usually carries the load. I think 10% participation is pushing it. maybe 5% so that would be 23,000

I think annual subscription fee is reasonable--we get a lot out of this place.

have different levels of sponsorship--aka like our status.

I think it's a good idea. I don't know how may people here are regular posters, but I get the idea of donating. Though I live miles away from all of you, I would donate with no doubts. A festival like that would be a great excuse to travel to US for the fisrt time and meet many of you.

I have to do some research, but I remember that one group of people created a community that turned into a site (queremos.com.br) to raise money to bring some indie groups to play in Brazil...I think it was Belle and Sebastian...and it worked actually
