This is what I've been getting and it's still happening.

That is what everyone has been getting (with little variances depending on the browser), at least on the desktop side. On the smartphone end there's no problem.

I know that, but it seems like this is a Google / Firefox problem, not an actual threat, ie., they fucked up. Do I see this wrong?

It's a google issue, yes. Firefox, Explorer and Chrome all show the warning so it's not browser related.

Five years ago when the forum averaged something like three posts a minute this would have been a HUGE deal and Andrews email box would have been overflowing but now I think not so much. It's a hassle but in reality it's only a few additional clicks.

Yes there is something to this

Postby kmjrr » Fri Jan 18, 2013 12:12 am

I clicked on the "Artist & Message Boards" link last night with my young daughter standing next to me and a porn page popped up. Luckily she didn't see it before I was able to close it. I just tried it again and I get that warning message.

I'm still getting the same screen on my laptop, I'm using Firefox 18. Everything is fine on my iPhone though.

We got Neelee (niece living with us) an iPhone 5 for Christmas, and it's pretty incredible. The only thing I don't like about it and other Apple products, is how proprietary everything is. But it must be working for them, because they're doing great bidness. But you have to do everything through iTunes, and you can't swap out batteries. Really great device though.

Not yet. It was still there when I logged in just now. I'll clear my cache and cookies tomorrow and maybe that will fix it for me.

The thing that irks me is the warning even changed the icon on my bookmarks toolbar to the image on the warning page. Grrrr..... Hate when that happens!

If you Firefox users trust your antivirus, you can do what I did to stop getting that. If your antivirus is out of date, I don't recommend doing this. Not because of this site, but because of other sites you might encounter that ARE infected. Like those sleazy porn sites a lot of you frequent.  ;)

First, click Tools, then click Options.

click on each image to enlarge it.

Yep, there's Steve!

Click on the Security tab, then uncheck "Block reported attack sites". Then click "OK" Done.

I did this a few days ago and have been enjoying not seeing that.

Andrew, as I said in a previous post, it DID go to a porn site last week when I clicked on the forums link - while my young daughter was standing next to me, which scared me to death. Thank God she didn't see it, so this was NOT in error. I now get that warning screen.

It's like being on tv by accident. You just happened to be in the right place at the right time when I did the screen capture.
