As one who never goes to doctors I didn't have much choice in this instance. Somehow though, I didn't need stitches. My hand did hurt for a few months afterwards.

Yeah, and I bet he won't do it like that again.
In retrospect, submerging the pack of them in lukewarm water for a minute or two would have had a more desired effect without the bloodshed.
