Yet here you are. You'll be at the theater in 2016, with everyone else.

Read The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller and you'll get what they're doing there.
That clip rocks! And I know you dig it.

LED lights in a Batsuit? Yeh, bro, I am practically pissing my Spiderman fruit of the looms with excitement. The best part of that clip is hearing all the virginal dorks flip their shit. What a bunch of tools.

I've read it. Thanks. A straight up standalone adaptation of any of the classic graphic novels, Dark Knight, Killing Joke etc. would've been awesome. Get Aronofsky or some other auteur to do it. Right now, as I've said before, WB is just pillaging the Batman cash-cow because Man of Steel, a little like Green Lantern, did not have the legs to support or to launch the DC film universe on its own.

Correct. Many in the industry speculate there will be no ASM3. What other sequel was recently announced as being released in 2018? Oh rite. Man of Steel 2. Don't hold your breath for that one either...

Yeah, The same actual fans that failed to come out for repeat viewings of MOS which helped contribute to the major drop off and quick descent after weak word of mouth.

There's a distinct divide when it comes to fans of Superman. With the foulness of ASS that was Superman Returns, most fans gave up on Superman in cinema and stayed away from MoS, which is why the studio started from scratch. A reboot that not only was a reboot, but a reboot that took away his classic costume and changes to the mythology. Most Supes fan at that point were done the moment they took the red trunks away but the line in the sand was drawn.
Not only that, but most of the fanbase is made up of Christopher Reeve worshipers, not natural Superman fans when it comes to the bigscreen so not only did Man of Steel have an uphill battle of Superman Returns, a reboot and changing directions of his iconic stature and direction, it also had to look Reeve fans in the face and dare to be different.
The competition was another thing. After all the factors above, it still had stiff competition of divisive critical acclaim. Still, the movie stabilized, even after the huge second drop with stiff competition, to $668 million World Wide. It was a number that got us in position for the better to not only the Superman franchise moving forward, but the shared Universe as well.
Man of Steel rejuvenated Superman, even with the negative nancies. Overall, it's what the character needed and it's the RIGHT direction.
BluRay and DVD sales continue to soar, which are a huge testament to the success's of the movie. Box office isn't everything. Home video is just as important after the fact and MoS has proved to be a BEAST in those sales.

YoungJRNYfan wrote:There is something called staying true to the source material. Hollywood sometimes stays away from such material, but not Zack Snyder. His style is overloaded with iconic imagery and heavy handed visuals that stem virtually out of the comic book world. LED lights in TDKR's battle armor Bat-suit has fans salivating. We've NEVER seen an adapted Batman that came straight from the comics. In all these decades, we're getting that with Superman and Batman thanks for Snyder.
