We had a nice warm day here today too. Must have been about 20 degrees C. It's the first time I've seen the sun in a week. It was nice to get the washing dry on the clothesline for a change.

Please don't complain... the first week of june we had temperatures of just over 12 C... Last week it was about 95F over here too, and I loved every minute of it. I hope ot stays that way unto September. If not, I'd love to trade places. ;)

I'm the youngest on the board. Doesn't that make me the official complainer?

Something to understand about Mainers. We all complain about the weather. First, our most common phrase of summer is "It's too hot and muggy!" Then when the rain comes, the most common phrase becomes "It's too cold and wet!" Then when it stops raining and the weather is nice, the common phrase becomes "I wish it were warmer," or "It's too dry. We need more rain." And the vicious cycle is complete.

Jonny, I'd think the wiring is the most likely cause for the feedback loop. But otherwise could it be a setting in the software that causes it?

Sounds familiar! People complain about the weather a lot here too. Myself included! I'm just envious of places with warm weather, we don't have that many warm summers over here. ;)

Already been done. We have the setup of our software exactly the way a friend has it set up for his music projects. We double and triple checked, and I know for certain that it isn't a software setting conflict.

That cost money though. Lord help me if my bro actually spent a little money on his own band project. (No money spent so far. All his equipment came as gifts or from repair jobs.)

The little bro was proven wrong today.

I came up with a brilliant way to prove that it was a connection problem, and not a PC problem. I asked my bro to disconnect everything from the sound card. In theory, by doing this, it shouldn't be able to record anything.

We hit record...and it rerecorded the existing tracks.

So it is an internal issue with the computer. Forget everything that I said up to this point regarding the computer. (hell, I just delete that original post.) The big bro proved the little bro does know nothing after all.

Have a drink, Jonny; at least you've now ruled out one of the possibilities that could have caused the problem. ;)

Definitely. Drink sounds good right now.

(sips beer)

So now the next step is to find some patches for a Yamaha XG1000 sound card. One of my bro's friends says it's probably one of the best (old) sound cards, and that many musicians sware by it. Unfortunately, the original site for this card has been long gone for years.

Add it to the next battle of the band...project. (I know, lame joke. ) Hopefully will be the final problem once fixed.

Not a prob. I've been fiddling around (or in this case, keyboarding around) with some ideas myself. You may hear back from me again.

I think somebody screwed up at work when they handed out the work schedule. Starting today is one of the four busiest days of the summer (leading up to Independence Day.) ....and I got three of those days off!

I plan to go back to my bro's house to help with the remodeling. And then I'm gonna contact my best friend and see if he wants to do something. This is the first time in months that we had the same days off that didn't have to do with bowling leagues.

There will be tons of crowds and fireworks on the 4th...but I'm not sure if I will participate in the festivities. Parades are nothing more than giant advertisements. The fireworks are the exact same every year...I haven't decided yet if I want to see the same old same old. Even my favorite Thai place is closing on the 4th, something they've never done before.

Hello everybody!

I'm slowly recovering fromlast night's gig with Swedish singer/songwriter Toby. Funny thing is that he used to be my music teacher at school, a real cool cat. Sad thing is that he got all the chicks, I was left with some guys asking for the female singer in a band called Coastline!

Anyway, hope you're all doin' fine this weekend!

Ah, what a great day. It's the 4th of July, I'm skipping the parade, and I got the house to myself for a couple hours. Time to blast tunes at 100 decibels (or however high my stereo can go.) Later today, I'll be wearing my Within Temptation t-shirt to give them shameless promotion among the masses. Every person will walk by and ask "Who the f*** are Within Temptation?" My answer, simply, will be 'the best f****n' band America doesn't know about.'
