Schumer Pulls 'Tea-Bagger' Card on GOP Candidate Brown

New York Sen. Charles Schumer, who famously hammered then-Sen. Alfonse D'Amato for calling him a "putz-head" in their hot 1998 campaign, was accused Thursday of stepping into the gutter himself after he sent out a fundraising e-mail in which he called Massachusetts Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown a "far-right tea-bagger."

The two-term Democrat, in accusing Brown of being aligned with the conservative "tea party" movement, used a term that every tea party critic knows refers to a sexual act.

Bickering with Biden

The tension between Barack Obama and Joe Biden was far greater than between the Palin and McCain camps.

The whole administration is a huge cluster... as is quite apparant to anyone who's paying attention.

From the unaccountable czars...to the numerous appointed tax cheats. Can we pull what's left of that "stimulus" money from the toilet while it's still circling the bowl? Thanks El Presidente!!!!

Dems look at bypassing Senate health care vote

BOSTON (AP) - A panicky White House and Democratic allies scrambled Sunday for a plan to salvage their hard-fought health care package in case a Republican wins Tuesday's Senate race in Massachusetts, which would enable the GOP to block further Senate action.

The likeliest scenario would require House Democrats to accept a bill the Senate passed last month, despite their objections to several parts.

Aides worked frantically Sunday amid fears that Republican Scott Brown will defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in the special election to fill the late Edward M. Kennedy's seat. A Brown win would give the GOP 41 Senate votes, enough to filibuster and block final passage of the House-Senate compromise on health care now being crafted.

[/quote]

Hopefully the people of Mass. will go out and vote for Brown.

Obama is going to exempt Unions from his proposed tax on "rich" health plans, even though they are among the richest in the country. Great by me since mine is through a Taft Hartley trust (not as a union member...non-bargaining participant), but that means everyone else that is not in a union will be paying for the new health plan...for all the union members. Hmmm. And the libs all bitch about the special interest groups in DC.

Stuart Rothenberg of The Stuart Rothenberg Political Report has moved the race from "toss-up" to "lean takeover".

What's astounding in the polling is how Martha Coakley and the Democrats have completely lost the independents. Independents are behaving similar to Republicans (sort of like "Republican Lites"). But what could be more catastrophic for the Democrats is that the Massachusetts polling concerning independents mirrors the results of the races in New Jersey and Virginia -- and Democrats got creamed there too.

This is a very, very bad development for the Democrats, if these races are the "canaries in the coal mine" for the other races in 2010. If independents continue to break with 64-67 percent for Republicans for the rest of 2010, Democrats are going to get spanked hard in November.

It Brown does win somehow, it is NOT going to be a referendum on Obama's health care plan, as Massachusetts voters already enjoy universal health care. Let me tell you - having lived there and attended university there, the system does work. More than two thirds of the population approves of the Massachusetts plan.

What I would interpret a GOP victory is dissatisfaction with the direction Obama is leading the country.

Truthfully, he has disappointed me greatly - he has rested on nonexistant laurels, not followed through on his campaign promises, and hasn't been enough of a force or presence. At this point, I doubt I would vote for him again, although I cannot imagine a Republican who would win my vote come 2012.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night

Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Great news, even though this guy most likely won't be much better, at least it's one less liberal whackjob who can't tell her asshole from a hole in the ground in the US Senate.

Ahhhh it is good to see the Libs coming unglued...they are going to thrash each other for this one...all the finger pointing...

Coakley had a freakin' 20 point lead on December 19th...anyone think that MAYBE her party's antics in Washington had SOMETHING to do with this?

This could be BIGGER than '94...because the Democrats are WAY WAY WAY further left than they were in in the early 90's.

The BRIBES...lets call them what they are...to buy votes (Landrieu and Nelson)...and the disconnect from the what the people of this country want.

The Democrats are going to try and PUSH this through regardless...and all go down burning in November.

OH and 7...this ABSOLUTELY was a referendum on Obama's healthcare plans for one, and the over all perception of the Democrats for another.

That's a fact. The polling from the voters that made the difference in this race says so. There's nothing for him to dispute.

This was an "Oh Shit" moment for every D seeking re election. Reality is hitting them in the face like a Roger Clemens fastball.

Problem is, I have little faith the Republicans will knock our socks off either. They'll bungle it up unless they get some new folks in DC as well.
