I already told you you have a hard time saying goodbye to your colleagues! It's only three weeks you're away for holiday!!!

No rain over here at the moment, but it's very cold outside... Sunday can't come fast enough for me, it's supposed to get 28C then! :D

Ok, dealing with another hurricane now. Dennis is headed for us. Please keep your fingers crossed or pray that it weakens in strength. I'd really like a home to come back to. I will be staying with my boyfriend.

No, I didn't get burned! Enjoyed the sun, finished reading my book, and went out to dinner afterwards... We went to a Greek restaurant. All that talk about Greek food really worked up my appetite!

You didn't get burned either? On the water you can get you burned more easily.

Teri, I just saw the news about the hurricane. I really hope everything is okay with you.

The suvlaki was okay, and even though I'm not fond of eggplant and courgette, they tasted very nice as well. They should have baked the fries longer though... :?

Yep! Perhaps it's a new trend... just like all the vegetables need to be 'crisp' these days. I still like my vegetables mushy.

Yuck!!! Vegetable porridge... I do agree that fries have to be crisp though, and not soggy (dripping with grease).

The only vege I like mushy is mashed potato, with gravy. All other veges need to be crisp.

I agree......and they retain more goodness if they aren't cooked to mush.
Traditionally, that's how old people have their vegies!! Yucky poo.

I'm not old people!!! I'm Dutch and we like to 'prak'! :D That means to mash the vegetables with the potatoes and gravy on the plate, preferably with applesauce.

Well, that goes for Dutch dishes... in my stir fry dishes or curries the vegetables are not that soggy; peppers and broccoli actually taste nice when they are a little crisp, but traditional vegetables like beans or peas I only like mushy.

I like them in those microwave steam bags, where they are mixed with peas and carrots and herbs.
