You assholes onthe right think it is really cute referring to us as "Libs." I don't see the harm. I would much rather be called a Liberal than a Conservative. There is no demeaning point to me on this namecalling. Being a Neo Con or far right winger(conservative), is embarrassing as all Hell.

1) I'm not an asshole, thank you

2) I don't think there's anything cute at all about "libs", it's just a shortened version of "liberal", duh  Don't give me so much credit

3) "Lib" is namecalling, but "Neo Con" isn't?

4) Contrary to what you may think, I don't walk around proclaiming to be a "Con" and proud of it. I just have a work ethic, that's all. If that makes me a "Con" though, well so be it.

Oh stop it!

1) I KNOW you aren't an asshole and hate you being in this thread truth be tyold...it's too harsh for you IMO. I don't want to include you in my battles with HimmlerFan, FartFinder and those guys.

2) Neo Con isn't name calling, it is an accurate way of realizing a certain person's political leaning. FF is definitely, and RWF moreso, are BOTH Neo Cons.

And finally MCE, I am a liberal and have a really good work ethic too. That analogy doesn't fly with me. A lazy person is not necessarily a Liberal....just like a Christian is not automatically a Pubbie.

Unbelievable...If any conservative on this board said that they agreed with something like that, they'd be pilloried and rightly so.

Exactly, just like not all "Pubbies" are those types of "Christians" that happen to be crazy either. And I didn't mean that all Libs (you should never have said that annoys you! ) have no work ethic. It's just MY personal experience, mostly at work, that there are a lot that don't have any work ethic and expect the govt to take care of them.

I should grab my doll though and get off the ball field huh?

Sorry but those 'target' graphics are no where near as bad as the gunsights.

Bow and Arrows and no where near as deadly as guns.

About those "target maps"

The DLC (Democratic Leadership Council) did the "target map thing" in 2004.... oops....

So what do you think about this map? it’s on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) website. They launched the site and the map on February 23rd of LAST YEAR, making it just over a YEAR old.

Image

Each one of those red targets represents a “Targeted Republican” like this one:

There’s even a helpful legend that makes it clear that’s precisely what the little red targets represent:

Image

 "funny" the upstanding Dems would call Palin out... yet apparently forget they did it themselves.. and people BLINDLY believe in their party's honesty and follow it like lemmings....

Typical hypocritical...

The moral of the story?

People who don't know what they're talking about should shut the fuck up..

Lula, first welcome back. 8)

You obviously didn't watch the news last Saturday as this was all unfolding. Palin was dragged into this within the first hour by the media, she had done nothing and was 2000 miles away in Alaska when the media started harping on her target map. Not the DLC or DCC or the Daily KOS target map..just Palins. It patently obvious that the libs are scared shitless of her and are trying their damndest to bring her down. They haven't let up in over 2 years. She scares you guys to death, just admit it. We;ve heard nary a negative word about any other potential POTUS nominee like Romney or Huckabee or Pawlenty..just non stop Sarah Palin bashing with made up bullshit. It's disgusting.

Sorry, but this is bullshit. I watched CNN's broudcast and that is NOT how this went down. They quoted the sheriff. They mentioned the Palin crap...And, they then went on and stated that there was absolutely no known connection between the shooter and Palin, that it was not known if he was a member of the Tea Party...and that his political beliefs seemed to be a mixed bag that was impossible to decipher.

So, saying that the media went directly after a Palin connection is NOT TRUE.

Maybe it was that way on MSNBC...I don't know. But, I also wouldn't expect much different from NBC's response to FOX?

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This might be one of the dumbest things I've read on this forum. So let me get this straight...A target graphic (something people shoot arrows at) is somehow less violent than a gun sight? And let's not even bother to notice that the text under the one picture says "BEHIND ENEMY LINES" as if it's a war zone.

LOL...I was not making a serious comment....the whole thread of "look at this graphic with fancy targets on it!" is completely stupid, IMO, and doesn't deserve to be taken seriously.

How about this:

Maybe we should ALL take a step back and quit trying to score some kind of POINTS or "streed cred" posting on a ROCK AND ROLL FORUM and realize that these deaths and the injuries for those who survived were a TRAGEDY perpetrated by a lunatic who didn't have all his brain cell firing correctly, and NOT because he believed or believes in some political side.

We should listen to the President...ALL of us...the vitriol has to stop. PERIOD. When we are SO busy shouting at each other we can't here the whispers of our humanity. The little inner voice in all of us that drives us to great things, that drives us to find solutions to problems, support one another, no matter our political leanings and RISE above moments like this and come together to make our country BETTER.

Stupid targets on websites, blathering on about who said what, and what it means (if it really means anything), throwing statistics from one place that contradict stats from another that are then refuted ad nauseum from yet others, proclaiming ourselves and our "side" as the "winner" based on nothing but other people who have the same ideals blathering on and on.

When are WE going to stand up and realize that the ONLY winners are those in power, who make their livings off of us thrashing each other. They derive power by pitting us against each other.

We yell at each other, while the fats cats in our government laugh all the way to the bank, until there is NOTHING left for us and our children.

While we should be coming together to get through this tragedy united in the belief that we are BETTER as a people that this one deranged soul has shown, we are not. We on a forum calling each other "lib", "Neo Con", condeming people to hell, bringing up further tragedies like the Nazis calling by others "HimmlerFan" and playing the race card. We should ALL be ashamed.

IT HAS TO STOP. Disagree, sure, but for God's sake does it have to degenerate to what this thread and the Obama 1st Term thread have degenerated to?

STOP. THINK. Realize the person that you are ripping into today, MIGHT be the person who you need to help you up tomorrow. The person who ripped you apart last night may be the person who saves your life today.

Tragedy is closer to all of us, than we ever like to think about. Life is precious, and it is fragile, and can be taken in a moment. By a deliberate act, an accident, or the body just giving out.

We should all be down on our knees and be saying but for the Grace of God (Buddah, Allah, Yaweh, the Creator, the Ultimate) whatever or whomever, go I.

I think there are points of this whole issue that are worth discussing and, heck, even passionately debating. Overall, though, you're correct.

Here's a good song that touches on this subject...

Like I was the one who cried and threw a fit like a 3 year old when Iraq was invaded and Saddam was killed.

Disappoining that so many other dopes in this thread are stupid to go along with the premise.
