You don’t get house insurance after your house catches fire.

You don’t get life insurance on a family member after a their death.

THIS is what's wrong with the country. Isn't anybody else sick of the left vs. right stuff?

No offense to conversationpc, btw (just used that as an example).

The whole "Left VS. Right" deal is like little brats arguing on a playground.

So calling someone a liberal is worse than accusing someone of being anti-American?

???

No Conversationpc- not what I meant. It's ALL bs. "Anti-American" is just another label, just like "repub"," liberals", etc. People that shout down the Iraq war were being accused of being un-American. I don't agree with that sentiment. Just because you don't agree with the choices of your governement does not make you un-American.

If you look at the White House- you've got repubs and demos. They can't do ANYTHING for the good of the country because they're too friggin' busy shouting each other down, clamoring for their piece of the pie, or worried about their political future. The system no longer works and hasn't for a long time.

It's all become backdoor dealings and secret motivations, etc. It's pretty sad actually.

I will agree to disagree and be quiet.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

 Thanks!

Those of you who keep saying that us "naysayers" don't have an answer, um, look again. Like I said, make this "reform" for the 15% who don't (again, a lot of which choose not to) have insurance. What is the point of taking over the other 85%? Other than a step towards socia..... well, you know

Can't argue with this. That whole thing shoulda never happened and we should get our asses out of there NOW. If they can't hold up their own country after all these years, that's now their problem.

I agree with this. They've been killing each other since 2000 fuckin BC. Get the fuck outta those shit holes.

I can... they were a threat... we just removed the threat, so it wouldn't become more of a threat...IRAQ would be building Nuke plants by now...if we did not do anything... but IRAN now has the means... Will someone in the west have the guts to dismantle IRANS threat... or will we wait and do nothing... until it might be too late...

Let's stick to the topic...Calling someone anti-American because they oppose this particular healthcare "reform" bill is flat-out wrong. Period.

Nice try to put your weird spin on it, but those are all poor examples....... Lemme give you some good ones so you understand this better,.,,,,

Lets say you wanna buy an insurance for your home, but they tell you "sorry , no can do, cause the water heater isnt working 100% and its been looked at by a plumber and since there MAY be a chance that it may malfunction and maybe set your house on fire, we have to decline you any insurance"

Or how about you wanna get a car insurance and Geico turns you down cause your car broke down 2 years ago and you had to spent 1500 to replace the tranny in it,,,,,

Thats how the healthcare system is now with denying those who have pre-existing conditions..... but of course you get your poor examples from Uncle Rush! :?

Dude you just cheered the bankrupting of this country...and the end of the way of life we have know for over 200 years...congrats Nero...have fun fiddling while Rome burns.

The CBO scoring of this is dependent on the POLITICIANS cutting Medicare and Medicade...which they won't because the need the elderly vote...we will be unable to pay for this...not without tax rates SO HIGH that it will be almost not worth it to work.

And the other thing is when somethign is given not earned...then the person who recieves it doesn not value it...this bill (not reform, I am all for that) is going to fuck us hard...you think the recession we are in is bad...wait 10 years...the depression that is going to come because we will not be able to borrow enough money to cover our bills ( as in the Government)...our GDP is going to go into the shitter and we are fucked.

i don't want to be involved in political discussions really. BUT, our insurance, sucks. It sucks. What i had to pay out for our 2 surgeries 2 years ago sucked and it put us in debt. I mean we are still trying to recover from that, though it's not so damaging it has "destroyed" our lives obviously, because I am still enjoying life. But something has to be done because even though 85% are insured, those insured are struggling. Its a struggle to pay medical bills when anything beyond the ordinary happens.

You don’t get car insurance after you have a wreck.

Not quite the same thing. Deaths and car wrecks and fires are not ongoing situations.

Let's say you're in the middle of ongoing medical treatment for whatever... and your company chooses to change plans . No fault of your own, since you were doing the lawful thing and insuring yourself, right? So the new plan says "sorry, good luck with your illness or injury. Call us if you develop any new injuries. But if you come to us whining about what's wrong with younow, or if you come to us later with something that develops from an illness you had before we insured you, we're pretty much going to just tell you to get bent.

By this logic, a company can deny benefits for a newborn because the mother was pregnant before she got the insurance, yet delivered under her new plan. "Sorry, that kid is a pre-existing condition (since life begins at conception, RIGHT?).

I want to be somewhere that my money will have value (Buy gold and silver, the dollar won't be worth the paper it's printed on). For $500K I will be able to live like Bill Gates in Costa Rica.

Absolutely. Pregnancy issues, many considered pre existing conditions, are not to be denied. That was a huge sell of Pelosi's on the Floor Sunday night. A C-section is considered a pre existing condition!

I am telling you, the only people who hate this bill are the rich, the insurance companies and the misinformed.

I'm confused so I'm asking this as a legitimate question. How is having a c-section a "pre-existing" condition? Are you saying that if you had a c-section for one pregnancy, switch insurance and get pregnant again that the previous c-section is a pre-exisiting condition? Or even pregnancy for that matter, are you saying that if you are pregnant before you obtain insurance coverage it is pre-exisiting or are you saying that any pregnancy (regardless of insured status at time of conception) is considered pre-existing? The term "pre-existing" is confusing me here.

Oh but here's where you're wrong, or your wording is wrong.

This isn't what Obama wanted. What he wanted was something much more progressive, something much more changing. This is all he could get from those fucking "just say no because we haven't a single idea republicans." Had we gotten true reform, with a public option, I wonder then what you conservatives would bitch about then?

It's all for naught anyways. This is now the law of the land, so learn to live with it Cons. Don't like it, secede from the union or move the Hell out of the country. Pretty easy decision if you ask me. This is nowhere near the shit us on the minority side had to live with during the Bush regime.

You know damned good and well that your majority could have passed any fucking bill they wanted, why didn't they? Hmmmmmm?

Moron, you sound as fucking stupid as the other guy who I no longer recognize. He was wrong then and unfortunately, he is wrong yet again. There truly aren't as many Dems in the US Senate as the numbers bear out. You know good god damned well the blue dogs aren't real Dems..they basically got voted in because the republicans were so fucking pathetic, and W was and is an embarrassment, that no real republican stood a chance. The blue dog dems are pubbies in Dems clothing.

Like I said dickbreath, this is the LAW OF THE LAND now. It has zero chance of being repealed. Boo hoo, so sad, cry me a river losers. You want to cry about this and shout it down, maybe us on the winning side will just turn up the euphoria? Lucky I wasn't in charge of this bill...I would have rammed this fucker down your throats, public option and all.

How soon til you stupid shits pack up and head down to Costa Rica? Need help packing?

True and I'm leaving this discussion too, pointless. And I understand what you're saying and have had the same exact insurance as you for years. Had to pay out of pocket for things for A's surgeon his first year of life, and yes it sucked. But we paid it. However, our insurance does not suck completely for what we pay. They cover all the crap you're well aware I have to have checked every 6 months after my mom's breast CA death, and they could very well tell me to pack sand if they wanted, and not cover any of it.

People aren't looking at the ENTIRE picture of what's going to happen, so I'm done. Not worth it. We have more fun things to talk about, lol.

I don't know Natalie. I am a guy, but the C section thing was being thrown around on all three cablke news networks and Pelosi herself mentioned it. I can't really answer this, except to say, it is considered a pre existing condition. Lula had a C section. perhaps now, that will show up on her insurance as such? I really don't know, but what I do know is it will not matter any longer.

I don't know about the c-section part - but pregnancy (and I'm not sure if all insurance providers do it) is generally considered "preexisting.

Example, a guy I used to work with - he had just started the job and had signed up for the coverage, but it hadn't kicked in quite yet. His wife took a home test and found out she was pregnant. They had to wait for her to see a doctor until the insurance had started becuase if they didn't, none of her maternity care would have been covered since she was already pregnant before their coverage officially started.

Right, and I agree. For routine things, they pay for all kinds of things which is great! But I keep watching that co-pay go up higher and higher. And for a family of 5, that's a big deal to me I guess. And then like I said, the things that aren't ordinary. Like unexpected things seem to really be a struggle and the bills really high, especially if more than one family member is involved in needing medical care at the same time. Its just hard to believe the system is not broken when things get worse and worse over time. I had to fight anesthesiologists so many times and BC/BS because NEITHER wanted to pay for anesthesia because they were in contract disputes. One of the times, I had to pay all of it. They tol dme to go pack sand basically. It just sucks. There is no one out there for us. It's all big business and it's like no one cares. I don't even think a lot of the billing offices in hospitals and doctor's offices care most times.

The only way I can see C/S being classified as "pre-existing" is if, as I mentioned, a woman had a C/S then on her next pregnancy had new insurance and elected to have a C-section again they would then say that the reason for having to have a section again was pre-existing because of the first c-section, although, I have never heard of this happening. Not that it really matters at all, I was just wondering.

Right now I have really good insurance but it is expensive and my co-pays keep going up, my premiums keep going up and my coverage keeps getting smaller....I don't know what the "fix" is.......but it sucks!

No Melissa. I actually value your opinion here and was and still am hoping to learn something from you regarding this, no matter what side of the fence you're on. Same as Natalie. she brought up the point of frivolous lawsuits and tort reform and I agree 100% with her on that. I am sure you could shed a lot of light here for those of us not in the industry.

Please reconsider, and re-engage. I promise I'll listen to some europe today in your honour.
